  1. New with these BIOS is a lot, bug fixes, cpu microcodes, performance tweaks, RAM SPD writes, latest BIOS & EC base, removed RAM locks in systems that throttle fast RAM, additional BIOS options, latest Intel vBIOS - LAN - SATA/RAID, updated style, latest ME Firmware, improved stability, proper support for latest GPUs and FAN control, unlocked vBIOS with removed throttle on W230SD (now also runs all cards @ 1202Mhz and not only for the select few)...etc...

    Prema,

will You also make for old model like P170SM - this updates? :)

  2. Prema,

what value set to have 2400mhz speed or 2133 ?

in For P-Series: "Advanced" > "Performance Tuning" > "Memory Overclocking"

I am not experience in that :)

My memory will be stable - I have 32 GB ram and I get bsod - maybe windows is a reason or laptop not support stable 1866 mhz .

Do you know something about that ?

  3. GPU fan will stop adjusting once dGPU is disabled. If this happens while FAN speed is high it won't spin down, except in BACO mode or if we manually force FULL FAN and then switch it back off.

If your GPU FAN keeps adjusting automatically in non BACO mode it means that another app still keeps using it.

Is any program which show fan rpm ? :)

  4. 1. Because it's powered

    2.Only on old HM series

    3. Fan doesn't shut down if temperature didn't reach shut off value before being disable under dGPU power off mode. Under BACO it acts according to temperature.

    4. That's totally up to your usage scenario.

So dGPU power off mode - is better because fan work when it is nessesery - right?

And even if we will play game and close - it will protect dGPU from heating gpu (big temperature - right?)

  5. I put that switch there only to disable it. Not sure what the benefit is to keep booth GPUs on. More heat, less battery. Maybe interesting if you use something like MVP...

    MVP make Windows BSOD :(

It is normal that BACO mode make GPU led always on ?

Prema - can You say something about this :

    1. Baco make dGPU led always on ?

    2. Can I use subwofer without Sound Blaster software ?

    3. If fan for dGPU only work when graphic is used ?

    4. Which additional options are recomended by You to set up in bios - after set up everything to defaults ?

    Thank You :)

  6. BACO (Bus Active Card Off) keeps the dGPU bus active instead of being fully disabled. This allows the EC to still receive temperature readings and not getting stuck on full FAN after a gaming session when the dGPU gets disabled.

(Also helps with some Linux distros to not loose the dGPU)

So - I should stay with default or change to Baco mode? :)

I would like to have fun running after close a game - to make graphic card lower temperature :)

You would make new bios for P170SM to support 980M - or it is unnecessary ?

  7. Can I also connect 3 external monitors for 1 hdmi and 2 display ports ?

I have radeon card but I do not have chance to check if it work to have total all 4 screens.

    And next questions :

    1. - Hotkey app is better in P170SM-A or make many problems like this one in P170SM ?

    2. - "-A" models have more dependance from hotkey app or it is no difference ?

    3. Can I force by bios to use Radeon for any graphic task ?
