i am locking for factory recovery media for y400/y500 lenovo ideapad pc

but for win 7 as i already have win 8 recovery disks.

i found torrent for y580 but it is dead torrent

if any one have either of the recovery media, please upload it

Same question here. Third iso is too large for a DVD disc, so what are the install instructions? Just unpack the third (and fourth?) iso's and there are factory install software executables? Thanks!

You need a dual layer dvd for this. I have used it, works perfectly.

P.S - Dual layer dvds have size capacity of 8.5 GB

I had no flipping idea that this existed. Looks great. Maybe I'll install windows 8 on a separate partition and give it a whirl some time.

What I'd be worried about here is long term support though. I wish Microsoft would just make two options. So many people want the start bar and the old functionality back.

I have never used windows 8 without this software, lol and its been 6-7 months now. They are quick to update and I have had no issues at all. Smooth as a butter.

Just picked up my y510p SLI the other day with the 1tb + 16gb cache drive. Immediately took that out and swapped in a Samsung 840 EVO 750GB and installed Win7. Boot from cold to desktop takes about 10 seconds, which in reading some other comments here may be a bit slow... Probably Win8 vs Win7 times. Went with the EVO over the PRO as I didn't see any indication that I would truly notice the performance gains (plus the price for the 750 evo was pretty good).

Windows 8 boots up way faster than windows 7.

Did you install any program lately ? Or uninstalled any ?

Try downloading ccleaner and free up some mess.

Matte is preferred, but I love high resolution of my Y500, so glossy it is for the time being.

I have a logitech B100 and it fits properly under my hand!

Personally, I dont like ios 7. I upgraded my ipad 3 and regret it every single day. Its too childish.

I have an Adata 128 Gb, bought on ebay. My y500 is ready in less than 3 seconds. I have also installed startisback so it boots directly to desktop.

It is windows 8 or windows 8.1 ? Please let me know cos I need it if its windows 8 only.

Where did you get all other drivers from ?
