No, as I understand it the minor changes did not warrant new unlocked BIOS's after A10.

I have not done it, but it is my understanding that you can flash the A10 unlocked BIOS (latest that I am aware of) and then a higher, locked version and your settings will transfer - BUT the settings cannot be changed after as they are hidden again.

EDIT: misread your post. Yes, follow this guide if you are asking about the M18X R2. I followed the USB boot guide and flashed via DOS from version A12 (I think it was A12). Just follow the instructions and it should work just fine.

I had a 3610QM as well, it is not overclockable with or without an unlocked BIOS. Cheap 2920XM ES CPU - great option for 130 bucks. Have mine OCed to 4.3GHz with A10 unlocked. Your mileage may vary.

You should have level 1-3 overclocking listed in your BIOS already. Just press F2 to get into BIOS while restarting the laptop and enable overclocking level 1-3 which is located under Advanced, Performance, and then overclocking level 1-3. Set level 2 or 3 to get the speeds you are looking for. Exit BIOS saving changes. Fin. It really is that easy.

If I recall, there is a procedure that upgrademonkey has you do in BIOS which allows for non-standard cards to be installed. If I were you, I'd look up a similar laptop graphics card that they sell on Ebay and see if they include instructions. If not, try PMing them and asking a "what if" type question.

Those are some amazing scores Mr. Fox, and some impressive overclocking specs on your R2! I honestly don't know how you got that 3930XM to almost 5GHz. I will have to pick your brain on how to eek out a stable OC on a 2920XM that's heading to me from China.

Pretty much anything more than 4 cores on an Intel CPU won't do you that much more good. It's a different story with AMD CPUs, as they really struggle to even come close to low end I7's in game benchmarks.

This is great, I've got my Xfire 7970m's running rock solid at 900 MHz, whereas overclocking via MSI Afterburner always causes black screen issues.
