  1. Hi there, I have a quick question, does the SLI method work for the 755 as well? Now I flashed the bios to change the wireless card, but due to Win8.1 my SLI is broken, and the official lenovo patch wont do the trick, probably because the bios version is not recognized because of this mod.

So I wonder, if I roll back the bios flash, by using the backup made before flashing, then update using lenovo tool, to enable SLI and then reflash to remove whitelist, to make my new wireless card work, will that work, or is there as of yet no whitelist removal for the new bios released by lenovo for windows 8.1, to enable sli. (sry if this was posted before, looked through the thread but couldnt find it)

  2. If you are having problems without making a little research, cause there is a fix and it works for everybody, don't think that 8.1 is worse.

I am running on 8.1, no issues so far, SLI is working, WiFi is working (I am using it all day at work). Sound is ok too..

Okay perhaps I was a little shallow in saying it doesnt work. I have fixed the wifi issue sort of, only the SLI still doesn't work for me. It works until I reboot. On the other hand 8.1 software is quite nice, you can boot to desktop and have better options and all.

Only the damned SLI refuses to work...

  3. Just a quick question, I have the model of the y510p with the option to add an SSD. But I already have the small caching SSD on the HDD. Would it be worth upgrading the computer with an M.2 SSD? Would you really notice performance improvements or would it be a minimal upgrade for the costs?

  4. I accidentally downloaded the upgrade, and now I'm stuck with Windows 8.1. About everything in this OS is worse then windows 8. WiFi chip malfunctions, and SLI is disabled. I tried the official fix for the SLI, but no luck for me. And I finally decided I will very soon upgrade my bios to replace my WiFI chip.

In the end, if you're running 8 and its fine, dont upgrade I'd say.
