Well, I installed the 680m and it works. But now I can't update the f*cking drivers. Says no compatible device found or whatever, I did the DDU, twice. but I didn't do option 3 before installing the new card.. should I take the card out, after doing option 3, then put it back in and install the drivers? I put the inf file in display.driver or whatever under 331.93, so I'm not really sure why it isnt recognizing the 680m. At all.

Hmmm seems strange. I'd want to know how you came across this, you upgraded to a 580? did you uninstall the drivers properly before hand? If not you'll probably need to do that or maybe even a reformat is in order

Figured I should add the ending to this, since it took so long to figure out. In BIOS changed display from SG to PEG. Problem solved.

Also pretty sure I disabled IGP but the terminology in the bios was different from the guide IIRC.

Am running the a12 unlocked and it works I guess with the 460m. I will remove drivers that way, then install the card, then install drivers. Hoping that ensures no problems I'm guessing ill need to replace the inf file again? Like after I do that driver uninstall?

I did install that driver as well as the inf file, put it it's place, and not sure but pretty sure it's a dell card. What will go wrong if the inf file isn't there?

Okay, seems as if everything installed proper and such. Inf file in place (IF it's not, then what will tell me?) and do I need to reflash the vbios when I install the 680?

Yeah I know, I'm getting a new one with the 680, coming pre assembled/benchmarked ^^ no thermal pasting/padding for me. Was fun to try tho - - - Updated - - - Also, last question for a while.. can I do all of this now? Without the card installed/any graphics card in?

I'm awaiting the 680m/heatsink now edit: I got it to turn on, took out the 460m and I guess it made the bios switch back to integrated. So now that I have it working, can someone please tell me what I should do in order to prep for a 680m >< I can't find an answer to that anywhere at this moment, I will still look but I figured I'd try to get the word out.

I can't even get it to start now. 8 beeps. Literally nothing will get it to boot. If the 680 doesn't fix this/make it turn on I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. But I didn't want this, all this bullshit and a non working system... Why is it beeping 8 times if the LCD screens fine? I don't know if I should check the connection or not because I'm quite fed up with this machine and just doing things with no knowledge of it going to work or not makes me want to throw this thing in the trash.

The A12 for when I install the 680 your saying? And okay I will set it back to peg, but should I reflash the vbios as well?

Seriously lost now. Neither of my graphics options are doing any good. I can get it to start and turn on. But now that I try to switch the main display it shuts down like it's bout to restart then more beeping.. I'm just about ready to say fuck it and start calling computer places, after I get a 680.. If I should that is, what the hell is going on with my system? It's problem after problem.. For 3 years..

Whoa okay now after holding fn and pressing the power button it's actually working again.For now I'm going to set the graphics back to PEG. As I don't want to be locked out again, and I need to update drivers so leaving it in integrated graphics seems okay

Okay so I'm going to get a 680m instead, haven't looked into it but I see it's possible. But I'm still concerned tho that my system just doesn't work with anything now lol..

Re installed the 460m now it just beeps. Trying to exchange for a 680m... Is that a good idea? How much should I expect to pay for one? I wish the 580 worked.. I'm really bugged as to what the issue is and now my system just doesn't turn on.. I'm pulling my hair out here with all this re pasting/cleaning/card in and out.. I'm giving up until I figure out a better alternative. I'm almost out of paste for sure now lol. And my thermal padding job is so sloppy

Edit. Repasted, and now start up idle temps are 44! I think it's safe to say it's working properly now. Going to try it out see what happens. Edit. And now the white dashes are back all over. Followed shortly by blue screens, a purpleish screen then a beep Edit. Switched the bios main display to sg instead of peg(integrated instead of the gfx card, had done this to fix blue screens) When I go back to PEG after reinstalling drivers, the same white lines pop up, boxes, crashing... I can "exchange" the card apparently, according to the seller, kinda stuck at what to do here guys.. could use some input, thanks again.

I'm still concerned as to why temps are ranging from 55-60 degrees on idle, and also still at 75 degrees peak temps after a couple hours, and my settings were a mix of medium/low with a few high.. stable 60 frames tho, or so... was pretty stable I must say tho, I had a positive KD each game tonight, so it must be working. I just wish I could run higher then those settings without getting that tear/chop when looking around hopefully this stays working, I'd be quite pleased. If the temps stay around 75/under 80 that's fine? Well I reinstalled the newest drivers reflashed my vbios and seemed to be steady. Temps went up to like 67 during like 10 minutes of gameplay. No crashes. Left it running just on desktop wit everything closed to see if it's stable

Mmmmmmm great.. It works then doesn't. Getting these weird squares purple/green.. Then white, I have a pic ill post soon. If I can get it to start and stay on without crashing and freezing. I installed the 314 drivers and did okay tho so I don't really understand why it's still doing it

I'm crashing, just got these blue screens with some purpleness to it!?!?!?!?! Did I somehow f*ck up my mobo?????? How is this even possible, I can't find anything on these purple pixels and black screen to restart to starting to BSOD to starting to BSOD to starting fine. Temps high 61 while just browsing some internets.. couldn't get the temps before when I was playing though.. was a little choppy, got progressively worse almost it felt. Then eased up, came back in some spots. Is it because I unparked my CPU?? Could that even make these purple pixels/black screen? Or is it just something to do with the drivers this time???
