I would imagine you could just get the part number and have them send you the part? It sounds like you called... but I don't see what the big deal is on their end. They use the ultrabay dvd drives to assemble them so why can't they sell them on the side?

Conversely, I believe that you can get a standard dvd drive and put it in. I think?

That's actually what I attempted to do while I was on the phone with them, and I got the part number that I needed, but no matter which department I called, no one would actually send out or sell the DVD drive. Not sure why or why not either. Just that it wasn't "in the system" so they can't sell or send them, only replace defective ones.

I'm so happy I found this site. I had thought I was going crazy with the wireless issues. I even ended up buying a new router (It was time anyways, and got to upgrade to a nice new ASUS AC router) as my initial google searches didn't seem to pull up anything. I'm going to try installing the Intel AC7260 card I picked up and see if it works once I get access to the BIOS mods. I will post back with how well it works on an enterprise network too (I'm the network admin for a gaming company and we just updated our cisco system with new AC modules!!)

I've never had any issues myself with the trackpad (compared to the MSI GE60 that I tried before swapping it for the Y510p) but I am wondering if you know which OEM drivers I should be grabbing that are different from the Lenovo ones? The only issues I've had is sometimes the 2 finger scrolling doesn't pick up, but for the most part it's fine.

Not sure if it's still relevant but Lenovo did post the update that gets SLI functioning again with the latest Nvidia drivers. I've been using it and it works great so far. Haven't had any problems since then. Haven't tried overclocking or anything yet though.

Have you noticed major improvements with the new card? I picked it up without realizing I needed to flash the bios so now while I see if I can get that done, I'm wondering if it's worth it to flash the bios or just return the card. I've been fairly disappointed in the wireless performance of the laptop (Although everything else has been fantastic with the laptop) but I'm not sure if it's a Windows 8/8.1 issue and nothing to do with the current adapter.

I spent a few hours with Lenovo support getting bumped back and worth to different departments, and it turns out that if you got the SLI model there isn't a way to purchase the DVD drive as a stand alone purchase. This is a little annoying as they advertise on the website that there are many accessories to purchase for the ultrabay, but there actually don't appear to be any.

If anyone does find any way to purchase ultrabay accessories please let me know!
