  1. I installed my 7260 and have been getting inconsistent results so far. I have a link speed reported as 866mbps but not getting anywhere near that throughput IRL on file transfers. I also seem to lose the credentials to my 5GHz network everytime I reboot. I will do a full rollback on the drivers and router reset and report back. Event in its current state it is a vast improvement over the original 2230.

  2. People seem to be getting really good results with the 7260 (Intel Card) it's cheap, 2 antenna so doesn't leave any bandwidth on the table by not being able to connect a 3rd antenna. Plus it's 802.11ac so it is there for when you upgrade your router. Other reports from here on the forums are that it is getting about 700mbps in the real world. Can't wait to be able to install mine.

  3. DuncDog,

If you haven't updated to 8.1 I would recommend it as there are a whole pile of good usability enhancements. Once you have download the vbios flash for 8.1. Make sure you go into the Device manager to confirm which card you have 750 or 755. Flashing the wrong card bios will cause more problems than flashing the 8 bios in 8.1.

  4. After having read all the pages am I correct in inferring that the AC7260 is working with sleep correctly now. Have the latest proset wireless drivers and 8.1 ready and waiting. Card arrived as well. Just need the weekend to come so I have some time to get the back of this badboy to install... Living in an apartment building with way too many 2.4GHz networks is a huge drag on throughput. Throughput that is needed for the amazing power of this machine.

  5. I don't know if this will help you but the official readme said the update was October 12, 2013 and the BIOS versions that are reported in GPU-Z are :

    80.07.9D.00.3D

    80.07.9D.00.3D (P2044-nb3q)

I wasn't able to figure out what card was which sorry. From the readme looks like Lenovo knew about it during 8.1 testing and was actively working on a fix. Really should have communicated it better. Oh well. Still really happy with the laptop.

  6. I figured I's use some of my post cap to ask a question regarding the bios unlocking. How are Lenovo and others even allowed to do this? There is absolutely no basis for them to be able to say what parts can and cannot go into a machine once it is in the users hands. They can withhold warrantee support but that's about it. Admittedly I come from the desktop world but I find this very odd to say the least.
