  1. It should work, try it

Sorry for the late response; I've been wrestling with this for the last few weeks. I couldn't get the package downloaded from the Clevo website to install to my machine (errors kept preventing a successful install, possibly due to being on Win 7?). Ended up having to roll back to the version provided with the machine (7.0031). Sadly, this version still doesn't seem to do anything differently with the k/b indicator option un-checked. Any thoughts on other ways to remove the OSD?

  2. @all: About the OSD, have you tried right-clicking the tray icon and untick the K/B indicator? It is supposed to stop the OSD from showing

Thanks for the reply, and your work on this mod. I've tried unticking the K/B indicator, but the OSD still shows. Win 7 x64, Hotkey 7.0026. Not sure why. Maybe I should upgrade to ver. 8?

  3. It's okay for Hotkey since the programm don't really change, but be more carfull with other drivers :D

Actually, for me, even if hotkey is not installed, the leds and all the fn shortcuts are functionnal so, if you don't use the control center , i can just uninstall it !:D

Hmmm..... I'm curious about this. I can't seem to get the Fn keys to work without it. I didn't uninstall, but after killing the process, I lose the ability to turn on keyboard backlights, or use other fn key shortcuts. Any thoughts?

  4. You should go to the clevo download center : CLEVO - Download

and select your model, you should see the latest Hotkey programm.

Thanks! All the downloads listed are for Win 8 x64. I'm running Win 7 x64. I assume they'll work, but it's worth asking. Are these the correct drivers for me?

Is it possible to completely disable the overlays but keeping keyboard light control? I'm getting sick the the overlays always making programs minimize or making me lose what I have selected. Ex. cannot hit capslock while typing here since it makes the overlap popup makes the chat window get deselected.

This. The overlays are frustrating. It would be great to be able to keep hotkey running, but disable the osd/overlays.

  5. The bag you bought though is $25 right? Or is that just the sleeve? Thanks again for the post this is helping tons!

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. The $25 was for the sleeve. The cheapest I've seen for a back is $50-70 for a Targus (depending on specific model). Let me know if you have other questions.

  6. If you're switching out your DVD drive for the hdd caddy, I was told by Xotic to use the bezel on the DVD drive for the caddy. I'm not sure if you can just buy a bezel if it breaks, though. Hope this helps.

  7. Hi guys, I'm a recent 9380-S buyer as well, and spent some time shopping for a bag. I have yet to buy one, but I can at least offer the information that I've found.

First, if you're looking for a laptop sleeve, I bought this one: Tucano 18" Neoprene . It fits the 9380 pretty snugly, with a little give to it. It's a nice fit that offers some protection if you're looking for extra (I've encountered laptop bags with less-than-ideal surfaces in the laptop compartment before). I've found it's best to look for equipment made to accommodate 18" laptops. Most of the "larger" 17" bags seem to cap out at a size that holds an Asus G75, which, while big, is a bit more compact than the 9380-S.

I've heard that the Targus XL bag will fit the 9380, but I have my doubts (I've seen conflicting reports on the dimensions of the laptop compartment), and it doesn't seem like the best bag to begin with. My personal choice for the bag is the Everki Titan . The cheapest price I've seen is about 166 through newegg (link posted). This bag will definitely accommodate the 9380. (For reference, the dimensions I've found for the 9380-s are: 16.50" x 11.54" x 1.96"). I've heard that the Everki Beacon is another good choice (and it's a bit cheaper than the Titan). However, the Beacon advertises a width of 1.38", which is smaller than the 9380-s. It could be made up for by the additional room of the length and height, but I have my doubts. Slappa offers some bags that advertise holding an 18" laptop, but I can't seem to track down reliable info on the dimensions of the laptop compartment. I'll post as I find more information. At the moment, the plan is to purchase an Everki Titan in a few weeks. If so, I'll report back here how it works.

TLDR; The Everki Beacon may work, and is a solid "runner-up", same goes for the Targus XL, if budget is a huge concern. The best option I've found is the Everki Titan, which will definitely fit and protect, but is pricey. The way I see it, with what we've spent on our laptops, it's worth spending an extra 50-100 to protect our investment. No sense cutting corners.

  8. Thanks for all of the responses. At this point, the problem is (for the moment, anyway) resolved. After the most recent restart, everything seems to be fine. A Windows update may have helped with this in some way. I have no conclusive evidence, so I can't verify, but that's the only thing I can think of changing between the last shut-down and the current boot. I wish I had more helpful info to relay. Sorry.

Also, it looks like the osd I was mentioning is related to Hotkey (the osd in the upper-left corner). Is there any way to disable this while keeping Hotkey running?

  9. My Sager finally arrived. So far, so good. The only problem I'm having is with the backlighting on the keyboard. At the moment, I'm unable to change the colors, or to turn it off. Hotkey force-closes at each boot, so it may be related, but I can still launch the backlight app with the fn button combination. The Fn combination to turn the backlight off does nothing, and the colors can't seem to be altered in the control app. Any thoughts?

Also, is there a way to disable the osd for the Realtek drivers, without disabling the program? Alternately, is it worth keeping the program running?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
