Hi i have a question i have flashed my orginal y580 bios 2.07 to the (QIWY3090) 8.0 beta. Can i downgrade this bios to the old one wit the official lenovo bios update from the site. Or its safer to update my bios to the unlocked 8.01 bios from this site ???

I don't know, it's damn stupid of Lenovo not to provide any bios updates, really. Seeing how many different bios versions there are for the Y580/480 Y500/400, Y510p/410p etc. without any of it being provided to the customers is a reason for me not to recommend any Lenovo laptops.

You can use the leaked v8.0 beta bios, secure boot should work there. (See attachment).

It's signed, else it won't flash or work, so nothing to worry about.

Agree, wit that that windows 8 is faster on my y580 but i have some problems with USB3, and the metro was a new thing for me i use stardock as well start8 is great and modernmix is usefull to. I hope that in 8.1 there will be not biger problems with it.

i will agree the more ram the better...that's what I always say. I have the lenovo y500 and im thinking about upgrading it to 16gb of ram since i use Photoshop, illustrator, and vector works usually simultaneously.

True i work with PS and AE on my y580 i used on start 8GB of ram then it was not enough i chose 16 and it works now perfectly even with 3d like maya.

Ist safe to Flash That bios over orginal 2.07 bios. Will there be a problem with the orginal WiFi card

I think there is a beta version of the bios in this forum to fix the watermark problem.

Its safe to flash this on any Y580 i meen with i5 or i7
