Path of Exile looks interesting. One review said the multiplayer was good, but the solo play was not good. Also it is free to play? Those worry me, as you need to spend to win. Is it fun in solo play without spending any money? Oh, and that skill tree has to be seen to be believed, serriously, wow.
PoE is great IMO.
Although it is F2P, the paying members don't have an incredibly unfair advantage. Also, the F2P content is huge.

Custom build FTW.
EVGA, Asrock, corsair, and coolermaster are my current go to brands.
For a powerful desktop system, the Price/Performance ratio with a custom build is unbeatable.

I would stay with your 2500k. One of my desktops is currently housing a 2500k and SLI GTX780's. I stream to twitch while maxing out games without any issues.
Sandy Bridge is a great processor architecture, and it will likely hold its own for a while.

64gb goes by quick. After the OS, updates, and office, you don't have much storage. I would certainly advise against it.
128gb drives are not much more expensive than 64gb either msata or sata.
I currently use a 256gb ssd in my laptop along with a 1tb hdd.

After having the graphics card @ 1ghz for a few months, the fan grill became so brittle it fell off from the heat. The chassis started falling apart, and eventually I was plagued with heavy artifacting even after a stock bios flash.
Not sure if I had a faulty board, or if the heat will do this to every 580. I never used the computer on cloth or any materials that would cause improper ventilation.

I've been mostly happy with my H60 and H80 that I have. The only issue I've had has been the pump getting somewhat loud over time. They certainly keep my CPUs cool though, and I would likely get one of the new i series if I needed another CPU to be cooled.
