i cant say but i am using win 7 but i get this on my m17x r4 its really annyoing espicially on calls , this is when it usally happens, when my mics on and sounds loud, mabey its the cycle of sound out of laptop into mic out of laptop ects and it has a self shut down, This seemed to happen a couple of times on my old laptop when recording with no headphone or microphone , it just picked up sounds and played them out louder. Windows updates seem to do nothing as i installed a vannilla win7 when i first got my laptop with about 2 updates, (almost broke my machine)

i though there was hdmi on r2? oh well

i gotta r4 very nice! =D i love this design not the new alienware laptop look, er, the one thing thats a bit annyoing is some of the mobility gpus aint optimized with ubisofts new games ) = ac4 and watch dogs, i hope im wrong but all evidence shows that they are not to keen on pc community (ubisoft that is) other than that im loveing it , fraviout colours are pure green .. Sexy.

bios reseting should work, try going into bios and hitting defualt settings, other than this, it might not be cards problem you might of tweaked or hit something in the motherboard, i would get it checked out at a store , sometimes being able to log in on safe mode may mean virus or malware is on you computer, hope you get it fixed soon

theres loads of youtube vids to enable windows on mac software, it should be easy enough,, id go with one of mac gameing computers it fits needs for everything and is a very sexy machine, should play most games @60fps
