  1. Unless mistaken this is a performance thing only (?). RAID-0 trades reliability for speed. i.e. throughput speed is roughly doubled and fault tolerance is halved. If either drive in a RAID-0 array fails you loose ALL the data. RAID-0 is great for temporary storage of scratch data and also for the OS (assuming it's well backed up) but beyond that I would not use striped volumes for long term data storage.

  2. Agree with BlackJack above. Happy with my M18, except perhaps the hit and miss of using USB 3.0. Also, had to give up trying to create an AlienRespawn backup using 3.0 USB stick and instead get a 2.0.

    The WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) is also higher as it runs a lot more quieter when idling than my old R1.
