  1. You mean 120hz is better?

No, I mean the difference between a 4k panel and a FHD one.

120Hz seems to be either TN (which is a nogo for me) or IPS with pseudo 120Hz because the response time is to slow to offer real world advantages in 120Hz mode.

    Time for 17inch 4k OLED panels I think [emoji5]

  2. Some benches I did with the P870DM3 1080 SLI

Except legacy firestrike graphics settings were maxed out at 4k. No OC.

OC is due to throttling and the way pascal operates pointless at the moment, at least without some "magic".

  3. It comes down to personal preference, but I think 4K in a tiny 17.3" screen is a waste, many won't notice a difference, but the GPU is stressed twice as much. For 27" displays and up, sure, but especially given Windows' poor scaling I would strongly advise against it. To gain 60+ FPS in 4K you need SLI 1080's anyway for games that were released last year (e.g. Witcher 3), not even to speak of 120+ FPS.

    1080p 120hz with

low response time all the way (when it gets available lol)

Believe me, I tried both in the same 17 inch chassis... the difference in games is very visible and huge [emoji6]

  4. Are the new fans at least thicker in the new model, I mean thicker blades or are they the exact same dimension than the middle fan in the old model?

I mean the whole unit is a little bit thicker I heard, so there should be room for thicker fans, like the ones used in the new MSI GT73VR for example.

As I understand the advantage of 12v is it can spin faster but is also more noisy. I liked the master fan in the old model

  5. As @Prema stated, the fans they use on the P870DM3 are all 3 the same model, contrary to the original P870DM. Judging from photos it seems in the new model they replaced the bigger 2 fans of the old model and are using now the smaller/weaker fan in the center of the old model exclusively for the new P870DM3? I am a little bit concerned about this fact. In the video from Eurocom one card gets 90 degree hot. Can somebody confirm if indeed the center fan of the old model is the same version as the 3 fans used in the new one?
