Hey svl7, where do you find the backed up BIOS after you run the backup batch file?

My biggest concern would be that everyone is usually so negative about Radeon cards and Crossfire. However, this review shows you get a ton more value with the Radeons:

I love Windows 8 AND my Y500. People who complain about a "learning curve" are complaining about their unwillingness to open themselves to change. The speed increase is quite noticeable, and it's pretty.

This is exactly how I feel. I actually like Win8 on my Y500 so much that I updated my 2 desktops. The speed and cleanliness of the UI is really the best part. The Metro start screen doesn't bother too much anymore. I actually tried using Win7 and the traditional start menu again recently and had a hard time getting used to it again.

Did you see a lot of improvement with the trackpad fix?

I also just bought a y500. It's an awesome laptop, good look and feel. I love the keyboard on it too! They have it on sale all the time, you can get a good one for as little as $850.
