mjwelsh
hello i need help installing a upgraded gpu on my sons alienware m17x r3 laptop, i purchased the laptop with a blown amd gpu and now replaced it with the 660m. im running a12 bios and that has detected the nvidia gfx, ive set the bios to PEG. tried various different modded nvidia drivers and all wont recognise the graphics card. i have no missing device drivers, i uninstalled display driver and now its displaying generic non-pnp monitor. pretty much at a loss here and need help can anybody please point me in the right direction hopefully as simplistic as possible. thanks in advance. mjwelsh
ok just to add i have now run alienwares support assistant. this has come up with a pass on the display driver and also listed it as the gtx 660m so at least i know its working and its just driver fault. also noticed i still had the amd drivers still installed hidden in the device manager, have now uninstalled that.
