Can the number of incorrect password entries be increased to something more reasonable, like 5? I just got locked out of my account for 15 min after entering the wrong password twice.

Its set to 3 attempts but we've raised it to 4 for now. 

 

Edit: In fact you just caught a bug. It does indeed lock after 2 attempts and it's not supposed to. Will see about getting this fixed.

 

Edit 2: fixed and it should only lock after 4 attempts.

You do not request it, we determine it after 1 week. Your post count is also not sufficient yet. The 5 post rule no longer applies.

You do not need to request anything. Just continue participating and you will get promoted.

Hello TI team, i wanted to download the unlocked bios for lenovo y510p  made by SVL7 but i don't know what happened  with IDM i couldn't download  and now it says that i need to wait a whole month so i can download again ! is there any solution please? and thanks for your effort guys.

There's only an X amt of download bandwidth allocated for Promoted/Registered users a month. You must have exceeded that allotment and therefore must wait until next month or purchase T|I Elite Membership.

as i said i'm using IDM for downloading and after waiting the 10s i pressed download and it started to change the URL like 50 time at least and then i got an error message...

can we find any solution please ?

Unfortunately we cannot manually reset your count. To do so would mean altering the database and we can't do that for a single member.

There's these little features built into the forum which makes writing text a little more rich.

 

The @Name feature, for instance, lets me get people's attention.

Quoting someone sends them a notification, useful for rapid back-and-forth communication.

 

Highlighting part of the text in someone's quote lets me quote just that part (although the button for "Quote this" doesn't always show up for some reason). Ideally I'd have preferred being able to quote the entire post and then trimming off what I don't want to respond to, but this approach makes a lot of sense as well, particularly with very long posts where I don't want to be spending a whole 5 minutes trimming text off from quotes.

 

Quotes are collapsible, too. Though I do wish they were collapsed by default when the quote is either:

A: Extremely long, or

B: Contains pics.

 

Another thing that would be nice is... Greentext.

Also, I noticed that the HP notebook board has two sub-boards: HP Consumer-class notebooks and HP Business-class notebooks.

Is there any reason the Lenovo notebook board doesn't have a separate sub-board for business-class Thinkpads?

There is a bit of an issue with the private messages.

I could not find anything in the rules that limit a pre-promotional user to send PMs.

Even so I wasn't able to sent PMs to @Prema (I only tried with him) in the pre-promotional period.

Another issue is that the interface gives you a generic error instead of informing you that you are still in pre-promotion period (if this is a real limitation and I've missed it when I read the rules)

This is done on purpose to limit spam PMs and file begging.

Earlier today I tried sending a PM to a member with 80 reputation and an elite membership, but the PM failed with "so and so is unable to receive messages". This error seems rather ambiguous and I see no reason for the error to occur.

I checked his account and his inbox is full. I'll see what I can do about making the error message more specific. I'm also going to raise the PM count for members in general. 

 

Edit: PM quota for registered (promoted) members is now 300 up from 50. For T|I Advanced members it is 400. T|I Elite get a lot more based on their tier.

i want to buy elite but i have the  Problem at the Moment that i tryied 2 accounts now and every try the message :Currently we could not process your request. Go back to Techinferno and choose a different payment method

Any idea what i can do ?

also kreditcard i becomme the same issue.. :/

Same here, any solution to this? I can't register any CC to use for T|I Elite and I'd need one of the files posted here :/
