snowpepsi
Very efficient I don't have Premamod support on my P775DM1-G, and presume that any issues caused by a custom BIOS will not be covered by the 2 year warranty from the UK Retailer. Unfortunate for me!
snowpepsi
Have Clevo released a later BIOS than 1.05.01 for the P775DM1-G ? If so, does anybody know the version? I'm waiting for a response from my reseller as to whether they have access to a later version than 1.05.01. Guest
There are many new stock BIOS, but none of them will fix the throttle you see as they put it there intentionally...
snowpepsi
Fair enough. I was actually after a newer BIOS for my G-Sync issue I am starting to pester my reseller to actually confirm if they access or not. If you had a specific version number of a newer BIOS available - that would be helpful if I could quote it at them.

snowpepsi
How do download the latest stock clevo p775dm1-g bios ? I've not had any luck with my reseller after days waiting. Can't find any bios on there. Just the stock bios I'm after.
steberg
Try Palkeos Clevo FTP mirror http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/P7xxDMG/ You will find the 1.05.05 for your model there. Be careful to download the right bios...
snowpepsi
Perfect! Updated smoothly. Didn't fix the G-Sync loss. Going back for repair in Feb anyway.
fejerm
Hey all! I am planning to buy a Clevo laptop with desktop GTX 980, however I can not decide between this one or the Phoenix. Are there any significant differences between these two? Is the GTX 980 in this one has lower clock compared to the one in the Phoenix ? Yes, I know the chassis and cooling is different, but can this laptop still keep a 6700k and GTX 980 under throttle level ? I have checked out the Notebookcheck test of this laptop and according to that test Furmark was only able to run for a few minutes before a complete thermal shutdown. Is the cooling really this bad ? The review in question: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Eurocom-Sky-DLX7-Clevo-P775DM1-Notebook-Review.155423.0.html What are the cpu and gpu temps under games with high GPU+CPU usage ? (Like the new Tomb Raider?) Will the GPU temp be this high even if I set the fans in the Clevo software to run high ? I am planning to use 1 single GTX 980 with no future plans to upgrade to SLI. Is Batman 2.0 enough for me or Phoenix is suggested because of the better cooling ? Phoenix costs $500 more here, is the better cooling worth this price ? ps. :What are the base+boost clocks during gaming ? snowpepsi
I have a P775DM1-G, I have left Furmark running with a mild overclock (+50, giving 1227 core clock) and no issues whatsoever. I had the Intel XTU Burn Test running at the same time. The 6700K got too hot and throttled, but I suspect that was due to running it at 4.5Ghz. No issues with the GPU, nor shutdowns. I think even the P870DM may struggle to cool a normal 6700K at full pelt. I have been playing Tomb Raider on the P775DM1-G, at a higher detail than my old desktop PC, and it runs smoothly with the fans "relatively" quietly. Having owned the P775DM1-G for a couple of months now, I don't see any personal benefit that I could have gained by paying extra for a larger chassis and better cooling in the P870DM. The cost saving paid for a NVME 950 Pro... If money is no object go for the more expensive one. I'm happily playing games without feeling like I've missed out on anything. It works out the box. I've never had SLI and don't want to have to worry about SLI profiles or whether a game supports it, the 980 just works. The CPU throttles a bit due to current limit throttling... Hopefully the rest of the review will be up soon I was told that the model I am planning to buy has a G-Sync compatible LCD screen, however in the review it is said that it is not G-Sync compatible. Did Eurocom just send a model with a default laptop screen or I was misinformed and this laptop is not available with G-Sync screen (I was told that the one I am planning to buy has 60 Hz refresh rate, but ut is G-Sync compatible) ? god1729
What are the differences between the P775DM and P775DM1 apart from the GPU support(chassis/cooling/motherboard?), or to put it another way, what mods will it take to turn the P775DM into the P775DM1? fejerm
On 2016. 01. 11. at 8:18 PM, snowpepsi said: I have a P775DM1-G, Nvidia 980 (notebook) and a i7 6700K installed. In taxing games (Assassin's Creed Syndicate), I am getting Current Limit Throttling on the CPU. I've attached a screenshot of XTU. The retailer has forwarded my query direct to Clevo last week, but figured I'd query here while waiting for a response. It's not desirable that the 6700K is being downclocked during gameplay. What's going on? It's not something there is lots of info about, compared to Power or Thermal Throttling. Perhaps I set something incorrectly in XTU. I think the P870DM might be experiencing the same? I've had the laptop since mid december, and it's occurred several times. The only reason I noticed this was due to XTU monitoring. Now that I have noticed it.. it's bugging me. Other than this issue, the performance of this laptop is amazing. Wow, just saw this post...wow. I've expected it to throttle during Lynx or Prime95 stress test, but it even throttles during gaming?! Why? Too low thermal limit? To high default voltage? Or just a bug in the factory bios? What does the Prema BIOS exactly do to fix this? Currently in the EU the best place to get this machine is the british PC Specialist. Are they Prema partners? If not, is it possible to buy the Prema bios sepparately? How much different are the temps with Prema bios? Also, would it make any difference considering temperature if I buy a 65W 6700 instead of a 93W 6700k? I have no plans to OC. Also, the review on the Prema site is uploaded really slowly

ggow
I just bought a P775DM1-g from pcspecialist, been using it for a few days now. With Windows 10 everything works perfectly including processor states etc. Further testing has revealed that gaming in Windows 10 or anything that loads the processor causes throttling. This concurs with what @snowpepsi said. However, with Xubuntu 14.04 - 16.04 + Linux Kernel 4.5-rc7, my preferred linux distro. There are are few problems, including one major issue - There is severe processor throttling when under load - starts at 4.2 GHz then throttles all cores down to 800 MHz (major) - WiFi wasn't able to work as support for the Killer 1535-ac wireless card isn't fully included as standard which I solved this by installing the correct firmware files - No backlight control The processor throttling is an issue for me because I do a lot kernel and Android OS development so linux is my main OS normally.
