Help with adding a second drive to my MSi Laptop

Hello, I need help and confirmation on knowledge I have researched from sites before buying an SSD for my MSi GT602OD Dominator(http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GT60-DOMI...3&sr=1-3&keywords=MSI+Computer+GT60+DOMINATOR).

I have a 1 TB HDD installed right now, but I want to add an SSD in another bay, a Samsung 500 gig SSD(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OBRE5UE/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza).

I have installed a HDD before and it was simple, but installing an SSD looks like a similar process with more steps. I have never installed an SSD before and need professional advice from forum warriors. :)

1. Will the Samsung SSD work in the msi gt60?

2. Do I need to buy a mounting kit and cable accessory in order to install and use the SSD? (Didn't need them when replacing a HDD)

3.I have Windows 8.1 OS already installed, do I need to order a Windows 8 CD to install for the SSD drive?

4. Can I use an external Hard drive to transfer the OS to the SSD (I don't know how to phrase this question)?

5. Will BSODs(blue screen of death) possibly occur?

6. Will I be able to install it myself by watching a youtube installation video?

Should I buy the parts and then go to a PC repair shop location for them to install it?

7. Can I use the pre-installed BurnRecovery program to add data to the SSD?

8. Will I lose data on my main HDD when I install the SSD?

Clarification, Super Raid 2 is available, but I will not be enabling RAID.

I have a gt60-2OC so it might be different but besides the standard size hdd, mine has a slot for a mSATA SSD. Yours may or may not have one but you can still add another drive!

1. Yes

2. No it's similar in size and shape as the hdd. But if you want to use your 1TB HDD with the SDD you'll either have to:

a. Buy a drive caddy that replaces the dvd/bluray drive.

b. Forget about the samsung SDD and buy a mSATA one (check first if your model has an mSATA slot)

3. Using the tool that comes with SDD you can transfer the OS files to the SSD. If you do get the caddy, you can install a new OS by making a bootable USB.

4. You can but you can just transfer the OS from the old HDD to the new SSD with samsung's tool.

5. When the program is doing its thing not really. It's just copying files.

6. Yes, some videos really go in-depth.

7. I think that program is only for making recovery disks.

8. If you get the samsung SSD you'll have to remove the hdd from the laptop but it won't lose data.
