Unlike the leaked beta driver, this is no longer a free ride and requires (v)BIOS as well as matching g-sync MXM board ID.

Also announced by NVIDIA was 'Gameworks VR'

With power hungry VR headsets like the Oculus Rift & HTC Valve going into mass production and Clevo's latest SLI LGA installment scheduled for October this is great news as it brings proper VR SLI support into the reach of a mobile gaming system.

So Prema I'ma be a little far-fetched here... think you can use that "license" in another BIOS for a totally unrelated system using a totally unrelated screen that is running on eDP without switchable graphics to enable Gsync?

I'm going to be honest I want gsync for my P370SM3

In theory, sure. The only thing g-sync really needs is a direct GPU-screen connection (no iGPU/Optimus in the way) and an eDP screen, the rest are artificial limits.

I have to work on some other stuff first but I am sure to look deeper into it once I have my P170HM3 (120Hz eDP screen, same model as yours) fixed or the mobo replaced...

EDIT: Apart from (v)BIOS G-sync model uses a different MXM board.

Brb, salivating.

Also I love you.

<3.

Now if only SOMEBODY would make a 3D notebook so we could get that license for 900M series...

Ahhh ... our hero! Kyle for president!!!

Come on, how can you not love a company like that??! Compare that with Disterrestrial, RottenFruit et al; they'll take your $$$, organs, children and screw you over with locked-down, half-assed, overpriced products.

For ALL new systems you have to wait until after Intel's official Skylake launch @ IDF15 in San Francisco on August 15th...anything SLI will come only in the MONTHS after that.

eGPUs. Waiting for a long time for this. The perfect solution

For what? eGPUs have been around since at LEAST 2008. They're not new, and they're not a "perfect" solution. The perfect solution is working video cards and working laptops (both of which are in short supply right now).

I was hoping for an X99 5960X/E5 V3 & 1080M MXM 2B SLI in 15.6".

You will be waiting for a very very very very very very very very very long time.

Mainly until 1080M SLI and 5960X is available in a single mainstream CPU and GPU that fits in a 15" XD

Clevo could surely come up with one of those, like the P570WM3 but I guess it would be like 10" thick :D

P570WM3 is 17" though. There really isn't enough room for SLI in a 15". There's barely enough in a 17" unless they shrunk the MXM card form factor, but then you'd be sacrificing something else then I'm sure.

Truthfully, I would like MXM 3B SLI in 13.3", which is physically perfectly possible. You do not have to sacrifice or shrink nothing, maybe except intermediaries profit.

It'd need to be extremely thick and not have much in the space of I/O or battery, is how I'm seeing potential layouts in my mind. You'd need the heatsinks on top the GPUs/GPU and the fans on top the heatsinks directly to save the breadth being what it is, and also the length can't be too long either. I don't think it's particularly feasible, exactly. It'd look a bit like a P570WM shrunk down if I'm imagining it correctly.

In the P570WM was enough to redesign the motherboard. Namely, cut holes in the motherboard for the MXM GPU. It would be a thinner laptop or more efficient cooling.

IMO, LGA2011 + MXM 3B SLI in 13.3" x 1" thick, this is the challenge but it's fully feasible.

Yeah no... I can't see that fitting. It's not possible to cool that, far less get it all fitting in a LAPTOP form (with sufficient I/O and a battery etc) with any kind of decent keyboard and screen. It won't happen. Razer, Gigabyte, Aorus and others can't even do it with haswell quadcores in 14" and 15" you wanna do it in 13" with Ivy-E? Ain't happening man.

Don't mixed up notion of feasible from a cost-effective.

BTW, the scientists, considering mass and surfaces of wings they calculated, that the bumblebee could not fly. Nobody told the bumblebee about it and it's still fly. ;)
