VR (Oculus, Vive & co.) Will you buy it?

Recommended Posts

I've already heard a lot of good things about the oculus rift. And I know a lot of my friends are willing to buy it once all the bugs and technical issues have been fixed. But, will it really transform gaming as we know it? I mean, I know it would be awesome to actually play an FPS, for example, and feel like you're actually there. But all in all, do you think it would just end up being something gimmicky instead of something serious for gamers?

well iAm Working with RIFT an Co. I would say try it first before buying it. Every System (Gear VR, Occulus , HTC Vive, Cardboard, Dive .... ) has its benefits and its cons. The greatest Problem for most People is that they get VR sickness. If you have it you won't use it.

Eh, can't see myself doing it. I imagine that it will be very unrealistic until the technology improves in a couple decades. However, like with many things, the porn industry will be pioneers in the field and will love this...

If anyone wants one let me know.. Make a offer.. Also will come with all paid software needed to run the thing.. Vorp X alone pretty sure was a $100..Also DK2 incase were going to ask. Wanted to use it for racing. But everything past the dash is so blurred or distorted.. To used to high rez monitors I think..

I have a gear vr headset which uses a note 4 as the screen.

The latency is fine but even with the 2k display the pixels are still fairly visible. Carmack said 4k should be enough but I'm not too sure about it. Text is already hard to read just in 2k. To be able to run games at 4k and above 60 fps is impossible right now with current gpus. Maybe old games can but recent games can't achieve a solid 60 fps even in SLI/CF setups.
