Hello all!

I have recently purchased a Dell AW17 with the Nvidia GTS 970m 3GB and Intel i7 4710HQ.

After countless testing and some annoyances due to the 180W PSU I have found VBios Settings that I like and provide a much needed performance boost to this GTX Nvidia 970M.

I utilized NVFlash to backup the VBIOS while having the 970m disabled in the Device Manager.

Using that Backup I made a custom VBIOS using the Maxwell II Tweak application to modify the Core Clock, Boost Clock to stay at P0 for the 1203 Core Clock and 2850 Memory Clock. I tweaked a few additional settings.

If anyone is interested in reviewing my custom VBIOS, you can find it here:

Thank you in advance all! :anonymous:

I admire your effort, please don't take it the wrong way but we can't just use a software to make good (v)BIOS...Dell has 3 levels of throttle in BIOS alone...

Got to play with an AW17 R2 (v)BIOS couple days ago:

If you want upload a stock version and I'll look into it when I find time...

Thank you for the heads up Prema!

No offense taken. My understanding is VERY limited with the Maxwell series of cards.

Yes, I will get a copy of the original Bios up later today.

Thank you,

-Josh

Absolutely, please review (at your convenience) the following link for the Stock VBIOS for Nvidia GTX 970m 3GB from AW 17 r2 (2015):

Excuse me if I have meddled in this post this way, but the desire to resolve this matter of vbios doesn't make me think.

Thank you for your understanding and I apologize again for my English

P.s. I hope that my file posted above can help you Prema (vbios Alienware 4gn 980m R2 stock 2015)

If I can do anything you ask

Hello somejoshdude

I read that you have modified the vbios your 970m 3gb with Maxwell II Tweak.

I tried myself to open my file my 980m 4gb vbios with Maxwell II Tweak (did you notice their size equal to "109kb"),

but the program gives me error unsupported device.

How did you do to read the vbios on the program.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I fixed it I was using version 1.31 instead of 1.36

Just dropped some stuff today as I am hitting the road again next week...

If anyone wants an GTX965M or AW13 - GTX960M version, simply drop me a clean stock dump into my PM.

ENJOY! :)
