Hi. I'm new here and I would like to know if it was possible to replace the motherboard of a Msi gt780dx laptop from the 1761 to the 1763. The reason is because it just fried and since the 1763 seems to be cheaper and listed as compatible with the gt780 I thought I could buy that one instead of the same one I had, but I not sure if it actually is.

The laptop has and i7 2670qm processor and a gtx675m graphics card and was wondering if they were compatible.

thank you in advance.

Hi! i'm sorry for my english but i'm italian...

If you replace the 1761 to 1763 in the gt780, you have to change some components. (Maybe the cpu and gpu) Read this: http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/8907-msi-1761-upgrade-mobo-1763-a.html

Also i have the msi gt780dx but the mainboard is burned and i need to replace it. I wanted to ask you if your mainboard is the ms-1761 V1.0 or 1761-V1.1

I have the ms-1761 V1.1, and i found online the V1.0 but I do not know if it work on my msi gt780dx

Thank you both guys. Apparently it's not worth it since I'd have to buy other components, making the total cost higher than what it would be if I bought the exact replacement.

You could get a 1762 motherboard instead :)
