skan
Hello.I'm the unfortunate owner of a computer with a buggy Marvell 9128 chipset.it's supposed to provide SATA III capabilities, but it offers much locwer speed because it only uses half PCI x1 bus.The other option for me would be to use the Intel SATA II port, but this is even slower. My MB doesn't have any Intel SATAIII port.I tried upgrading the firmware and many other things. And now I've thought...Could I overclock the PCI or SATA speed from BIOS in order to reduce the bottleneck? What settings should I change? (unclock, PCI, QPI....)I would like to use my SSD at full speed.I've seen some threads about overclocking the graphic card but nothing about this.Regards
coldkiss
This is not recommended and you could end up with data corruption on your sata drives by running the PCIe bus overclocked. Best to stick with the slightly slower speeds if you value your data!
