Hey all,

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and know of a Fix.

Alienware M17X R3

GTX 780M

Drivers are V340.43

Windows 8.0

All setup from reading information here.

This also happens for SC2 but not for World of warcraft that runs without any issues.

Does anyone have this problem or know of a fix.

I have tried to take the drivers back to a old version but this doesnt make any difference. The same problem soon as the game starts it just black screens.

Thanks in advance.

This is fixed and working now.

Caused by the HD audio drivers, not had a chance to remove the drivers and install the latest up to date ones I found on here but this causes the problem in D3 and SC2 not WOW.

If the drivers do not fix it then it will be using a USB headset to overcome the issue.

  • 3 weeks later...

Diablo 3 had issues with Nvidia Optimus around the first few launch-patches, It might have returned, check the Blizzard forums for more support, else try running the game with the Onboard GPU and see if it changes anything (or Force running the game with IGP or GPU from nvidia control panel), this might be a more long term solution then updating your audio drivers (which is weird if it would fix that)
