M6800 Quadro cards

Glad I found this forum. It appears there are people here that actually know what they are doing. This thread, as it reads, is going to be for people that have an M6800 with any of the available Quadro cards. My question for the pros here...can you help take these cards above the BS +135 OC that anyone can get in NvidiaInspector? Posting the info from my original question below.

I'd like your professional opinion on my Kepler based GPU. I play BF4/Arma3 on free laptops I get from work. I use NvidiaInspector to OC the card, but would like to push a bit more if possible. I don't want to leave the vBIOS in a bad state, because it would be obvious, but I don't care if the card gets burned up (Dell will just next day air me another card and I will be back up and running).

Specs:

Dell Precision M6800

i7 4800mq @ 3.7 GHz (working on an OC and possible cooling issue)

16 GB RAM @ 1600 MHz

2 SSHD in raid 0

Nvidia Quadro K3100M (840 core/5000 ram)

Win 8.1 x64

I game on ultra and avg 60-80 fps depending on the map, and hover around 61-64 Celsius. The closest card I can find by spec is the 765M (3dmark has the k3100m just below the 770M @ my clocks), but there are some differences:

k3100m vs 765M

GK104 vs GK106

768 core vs 768 core

8 SMX vs 5 SMX

TGP: 75 W vs 65 W

Mem Bus Width: 256 vs 128

Memory: 4GB (ECC) vs 2GB

Mem Bandwidth: 160 GB/s vs 64 GB/s

What I see in the 765M that caught my eye was the core speed of 850+boost. The max I see in NvidiaInspector is 840 for the k3100m...what do you think? Is there hope or am I stuck?

what's the 3DMARK 11 score?

i've found those results on some forum. Can you compare?

Default: 3dmark 2011 graphics score 2515 points

Overclocked (+434MHz core): 3918 points

Temperatures under 100% load with 1087MHz core were: 52-63c, fans were not even fully engaged, very impressive.

Score comparison in 3dmark11:

Nvidia 580M GTX 3390 POINTS beaten by K3000M, easy

Quadro K4000M:rolleyes: 3610 POINTS beaten by K3000M

NVIDIA Quadro K5000M 5500 POINTS beaten by K5000M with 1500 points.

I run max 1.2V ~ 1215 MHz core ~ 2400 MHz VRAM

Temps max at 67c. I don't use 3DMark 11 as it's old. I use the current 3D Mark on the Fire Strike test. My current best score is 4244.

i have the same m6800 and cant wait to try ou tthis mod once i have the correct post count. Am i right in assuming that i just need to flash the vbios with this new file and i will be in business to use nvidia inspector without the 135 cap?

NVIDIA Quadro K3100M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7 4800MQ,Dell Inc.

ran 3d mark11 and got 4567 pre overclock.

ran firestrike and got 3132 pre overclock.

waiting to get my 5 posts so i can download the tweak and see what kind of results i can get.

so far i am loving the precision m6800 though.

amazing difference all these beat the base test results for a k4100m

i am running at 1012 mhz gpu and 2183 memory. taking my time to make sure temperatures stay in line. this puts me at a max of 70 degrees during these tests. not bad at all.

Currently I'm working on project to turn k3100m/k4100M into k5100m/GTX 880m without hardware mod and I'll be very appreciative if you help with some stuff:) All you need to do:

1. Download GPU-Z and save the vBIOS.

2. Download RWEverything, in top corner select "Access-->PCI". Then windows should appear - select device called "nVidia Corporation VGA Controller". After, save the info to binary with Shift+F2 combination.

3. Share this two files with me:)

hello ,i know this is al old thread but someone who has an older account on this forum pleeeaasee pleeasee can download me the vbios file from the first and 3-rd post from here because i am absolutly desperate.... i have a bricked k3100m on a dell m6600 and this is the only original file i've seen on the whole internet , and i cannot download it because the forum has a stupid limitation for new registred users like a few weeks and minimum a few new posts?!...and i can't download it....thank you in advance....my email : [email protected]
