G73JW-XR1 no display on LCD

The LCD stays black, no display but the external monitor works normally.It seems not to be the "backlight", the "F8" function key does not alter the problem.

Does the video card deliver signals to the LCD AND the external monitor connector?

If an external sceen works my guess is either the lvds cable or screen is faulty.

Yes, the 460M(?) controls the picture. It sounds like your screen went down. You can check the cable first, but the cable very seldom goes bad.
