This process will work perfectly fine, but before you flash you might want to check whether you're already on the latest vbios, easiest way to do so is GPU-Z. If you're already on the latest VBIOS you obviously don't need to do the whole flashing procedure.

Also you can use RBEeditor to flash and edit a modified vbios if that's where you were heading to. Otherwise SVL7's directions cover checking your vbios if an update is necessary. Dell also had a CD etc you can burn to update from their website just the same.
