sergioosh
This is a very impressive mod. I'm happy I don't have to do any of those with my Y580 though! It'll never beat SLI Y500 in 3D, but oh well
straightflushin
That's a pretty impressive mod! Lucky for me, my cousin had a Cooler Master SF-19 that does a pretty good job of keeping mine cool. I'm not sure how most cooling pads affect the y500, though. I'd imagine not too much. Aisthetikos
I'm going to repaste the CPU and GPU's, after that I plan to mod a Cooler Master Notepal U3.Cooler Master Notepal U3 Laptop / Notebook Cooling Pad, Up to 19" (3 x 80mm Configurable Fans) - Newegg.comThe three 80mm fans will be replaced by three 120mm. What I also want to do is placing one fan on each side (left and right) on the outtake. I want to make a push pull config out of it...Did this work out for you? I'm getting the u3, and am looking to keep my y510 acap! )
rotary-intl
One thing I noticed that dramatically helps with lower temps is uninstalling Lenovo Power Management...I think it restricts the fans for power saving reasons or somesuch, causing overheat. campy888
I recently picked up the Zalman Notebook cooler ZM-NC2000. Its got the right amount of slope for me and it's whisper quiet. I recently finished Bioshock Infinite with Ultra settings (/lower resolution) with my GT750 sli. Laptop ran the game without a hitch.
Hornbill
Fortunally, cooling scheme of this laptop was made very well. But it could have assembly problems. If you have some overheating try to reassemble with new paste and check cooler, maybe it grab some dust.
Silvos
I honestly haven't seen these high temps on mine. I played Crysis 3 for a few hours the other day and I think the ceiling I hit was 75C (CPU and GPU)...ambient in the room was roughly 76F.
gyc93
My previous laptop Y560P usually went to 80-90℃ when gaming. Then I used silicone grease and even liquid metal to cool it 10℃ down. But it's a little bit difficult to apply on Y500
sammy8172
I stick with a coolmaster. Keeps it cooled pretty nicely, if you decide to get one, find one with that slants up a bit, definitely helps a bunch with the cooling overall.
