nebuz
I use an fps limit in some games (particularly shooters) to ensure a consistent framerate, reduce heat/noise (laptop) and also, probably most importantly, in some games: to ensure consistent input lag. The last point is really messed up - to the point that 60 vs 120hz locked on a 60hz screen feels different because the input is handled more regularly. Note that this doesn't apply to all game engines of course.
zainthesnipe
I personally use it on Dota 2 to reduce tearing and such. just to be clear the fps limiter is in the console. All source games are supported as far as i know
TonytotheB
When I had a 144Hz monitor, I would limit mine to 120-132fps. Not sure why but I never hit 144Hz at 2560x1440 even with SLI 980s, so 120 felt better.I also tried TriFire once with 6990+6970 combo and it was awful in BF3. I had to use loads of BF3 tricks to solve microstutteringI'll never go back to 60Hz with FPS games
Karza
I wish Cities: Skilines had a limiter. GPU heats up quite nicely, making the fans blast full speed. Fairly annoying.
tifp
I use an fps limit on some non demanding games. It feels steadier. Unless if it's a FPS games, in this case no limitations.
Kuroambry
I using FPS limiter only when i see shuttering in games.
johnman
If I can frame limit I will. I feel like it is a waste of resources to let games run unlimited if it will run just fine on lower frame rates.
