Founder StamatisX Posted June 27, 2011 Founder Share Posted June 27, 2011 Yeah I cannot play any FPS game with vsync on... I prefer the tearing over the lag@Stevenxowens792 Thanks for uploading! so the game remains stable at 30 FPS and above with those settings?
Stevenxowens792
@StamatisX - the game is stable around 70-90 fps. The screenshots are at the end. The 30-60fps is what FRAPS locks the frames at while recording. Sorry.. Thanks!
Stevenxowens792
PLease give your honest opinion.. when I make the videos.. do I need to explain better or more accurately that fraps locks the frames and that the real FPS is in the screenshots? I put a 8 second delay in the vids with a slide to explain it but I am sure I can do it better... What are your thoughts? Best Wishes, StevenX
Founder StamatisX Posted June 27, 2011 Founder Share Posted June 27, 2011 I would just add that FRAPS caps the FPS between 30-60. I think that would be sufficient in games that can achieve higher FPS than that.

Stevenxowens792
Title Says it. The m14x rocks more than 35fps most of the time. Please let me know your thoughts on the screenshots.... Compare this to Dirt 3 or The console titles like Gran Tourismo 5. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/4483/shift2u2011062822124090.jpghttp://img846.imageshack.us/img846/3861/shift2u2011062822124349.jpghttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/5431/shift2u2011062822124509.jpghttp://img717.imageshack.us/img717/7063/shift2u2011062822125156.jpghttp://img26.imageshack.us/img26/2113/shift2u2011062822125295.jpghttp://img856.imageshack.us/img856/6609/shift2u2011062822125991.jpghttp://img815.imageshack.us/img815/7206/shift2u2011062822130251.jpghttp://img51.imageshack.us/img51/9541/shift2u2011062822130856.jpghttp://img13.imageshack.us/img13/4042/shift2u2011062822131873.jpghttp://img34.imageshack.us/img34/5373/shift2u2011062822132148.jpghttp://img231.imageshack.us/img231/5513/shift2u2011062822132485.jpghttp://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2154/shift2u2011062822134261.jpghttp://img41.imageshack.us/img41/407/shift2u2011062822134799.jpghttp://img694.imageshack.us/img694/9959/shift2u2011062822150807.jpgLet me know if these dont work for you guys...! Founder StamatisX Posted June 29, 2011 Founder Share Posted June 29, 2011 they work just fine Steven, thanks for uploading. So, those were taken during actual gameplay or afterwards from a recording?
Stevenxowens792
During replay. During racing it's on the cockpit view and like a normal guy I haven't read the instructions on how to change views yet. Seems the buttons will let you look around or free look from inside the car but not like a "behind car" view or "above car" view. Game plays smooth as silk. Very impressed that I am able to play on high as Ive heard others have issues above medium. With Video card at 750/1000 frames are usually above 35 and most of the time above 40. Stevenxowens792
Video... Dx11 Particle Fun. The water is just too cool. Be sure to watch in 720 or 1080p! unreal25
Nice video. However, I found the game really boring and uninstalled it, like pretty much any FPS I tried last couple of years. :-(
Stevenxowens792
These are some more pics for Gears and anyone else. Settings: Dx11, High Texture Pack, Extreme (ultra particles) 1366x768. I am using bandicam and fraps as I was experimenting with video stuff. You can see that bandicam doesn't adjust to the frame changes as fast as fraps does. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6653/crysis22011062922404072.jpghttp://img808.imageshack.us/img808/8855/crysis22011062922404697.jpghttp://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3864/crysis22011062922450780.jpghttp://img713.imageshack.us/img713/1269/crysis22011062922491766.jpghttp://img534.imageshack.us/img534/865/crysis22011062922492685.jpghttp://img685.imageshack.us/img685/3443/crysis22011062922515473.jpgStill bums me out that not everything is destructible. I like Crytek 3 for some of the shader and lighting effects but I miss destructon in Warhead. its like they took one step forward and two back.Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, my gpu according to evga precision sits at 73c the entire time at 99 percent utilization which is what crysis 2 pegs it at. Gearsguy
What fps do you think DX11, HQ textures, Extreme, 1280x720, and no AA would get?
mw86
Very nice Steven... I played the first one and love it perhaps the C key should change the camera view... Its very common on PC racing games. Sounds like you have it running nice to congrats... Looks awesome.
Stevenxowens792
@Gears - Exactly what i am getting now gears. Above 30-45 fps most of the time. My advice though.. is to make an autocexec.cfg file. Place these items inside FTW. r_PostMSAA = 0 r_UseEdgeAA = 0 r_ssao = 0 (our vid cards can process this but it impacts FPS a lot) The bottom line is that we can play the game on vanilla extreme just fine with dx11 and high texture patches. Adding these items which to me makes the objects a little more crisp (less smooth) and it give you some extra FPS for even smoother gameplay. mw86
True antialiasing is nothing special and gets video cards to slow down a lot... For good flow its unnecessary.
Stevenxowens792
Gears - You can play with config settings if you like. Sometimes images are too smooth in game and they just dont pop enough. The vanilla ultra config looks amazing and I wish i could run it but in truth some of it is a bit over the top. I guess that's what it's for. So to wrap up - Vanilla Extreme - 30-45 fps GPU clocks at 752/900 (gpu temp 73c) <-- note i put it at 752 to make sure its at least 750 all the time. I have noticed clocks fluctuate sometimes. This was the case with my old 5850. If you flashed the speed then it stayed perfect, if you adjusted with applications it would fluctuate a little bit. I wouldn't push the gpu too much farther as others on STEAM and Mycrysis forums have noticed the increased settings have caused issues with overheating on desktop cards. If you want a few more frames per second and a crisper picture then add the config from above. Good Luck, StevenX
Gearsguy
Actually I like anti aliasing but on a small screen i wont notice Jagged lines annoy me

mw86
Antialiasing is nice when needed for sure but while I game in 1080p and used to in 1200p I do not see many jagged edges anymore if I was on something way bigger than my 40 inch I might start to see more blocky curves. Stevenxowens792
If your on the go and have the alienware m14x, FIFA 2011 (soccer not manager) plays great. Over 30fps on high (no AA) on the integrated card plugged in and over 60 fps on the nvidia on balanced power. Plugged in I get over 200 fps on tele cam while playing actual games.Just plug in your favorite xbox 360 controller and your good to go!(Mods - I will start cleanup soon if ok, including this thread as it's probably time to tidy up a bit)
louis198920
I would suggest NBA 2K11 for basketball fans, since it's the only basketball on PC platform (NBA Elite 11 is only on gaming console). don't have details about the fps and all though
