rawhide85
Way to go Brian! The only thing I would add was the 4yr warranty. This beast will fly off the shelf at this pricing. Can't wait for your review.

wbabt007
Ok. let me rephrase the question, between a 750 gb 7200 and a 500 GB Hybrid what would you pick, which one is the better choice?
mw86
I echo that... check these to out... but I don't agree with this first one saying that hybrid ssd will replace full ssd. Not gonna happen mainstream... here are the links. Hybrid SSDs - articles on StorageSearch.com SSD vs HDD vs Hybrid SSD for gaming - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net check out ALLTHATISMAN's post it makes alot of sense.
e46justice
Hmm bryan how did ya get tax and shipping off? mine came to 2619 before tax and shipping, 2872 after. did you haggle your way down?
wbabt007
Great find Mw86 +rep to you. Now I need to decide if I should take the leap from the un delivered 17 to the 18. If I get the 18 I would be loosing at least 8 gigs of Ram, Will gain a Dual card but here is the question, ATI or Nvidia? and this subject usually ignites holy wars in forums. mw86
I was wondering the same about tax and shipping there's gotta be a coupon. My aforementioned config I plan to order is close to 6K before tax and shipping... hoping to dull the blade of Dell pricing and save some money on shipping and taxes... even 2% would be better... e46justice
hmm well i have to send this 17r3 back before i can order my 18 lol got 3 days before my 21 return polocy is up. Founder Brian Posted May 3, 2011 Author Founder Share Posted May 3, 2011 Ok guys, I canceled my order from last night, it DID NOT in fact have the discount applied that I was supposed to get. I just re-ordered right now and got 16% off through a rep me and Michael go through. Check the first post for the details, I also added on 2 years complete care warranty to the order this time around. Congrats to all that have placed their orders. mw86
I'm still looking at 6k plus tax and shipping!
wbabt007
I'm still looking at 6k plus tax and shipping! why 6k? where there is no possible configuration I see that you would need to shelve 6k. Mw I would recommend you get the system around the 3k mark and the upgrade with aftermarket parts. Dell Upgrades seems a little high. I know you want a speed demon but getting the system is the goal, because then you can add and configure at your hearts desire. Get the basics. dual ATI Video cards processor and minimal memory, get a normal HDD and go from there. That config will run you around 3300 3500. skaun
will the i7 2720 give a higher fps in games, than the i7 2630?
Founder Brian Posted May 3, 2011 Author Founder Share Posted May 3, 2011 will the i7 2720 give a higher fps in games, than the i7 2630?It should because of the faster clock rate and the ability to use 1600 mhz ram.
