Nice score, Brother @Papusan. I wonder if your newer version of Windows 10 or the newer NVIDIA driver is holding you back a little bit? I was running an older version of Windows 10 and an older driver in this comparison. If you use the driver I used in this run does the graphics performance improve? You should be able to beat my high score with your more efficient CPU sample. Your physics and combined score are higher, so it almost has to be the driver or newer version of Windows 10 causing lower graphics performance. I doubt it is the 17MHz difference in GPU core clock, but I suppose that it could be.

Hi, is 13400 Firestrike score good for gtx 980 desktop in p870?

I wonder how much more score would be improvement with Prema bios. Because now when card reaches 79c it downclocks with PerfCap Reason Thrm.

Depends on how high your overclock is. We need to know your overclocking settings on gpu/cpu. Also different drivers can make a difference.

Thanks bro  @Mr. Fox  Most likely a combination of drivers, Crippled Windows version and a notch lower Oc on graphics. M$ is known to destroy everything now as well Nvidia dont offer better performance with newer drivers, LOL

As well your graphics card might be more efficient (you need most likely lower voltage duo higher Asic score). Last but not least, I have slower ram(better ram help huge in 3DM11).

I think I need to replace the paste and thermal pads before tougher bench... Have not done this yet. What thickness should be on pads on the graphics card? Thought of these 14 W / mK Fujipoly / Alphacool pads. They are softer than those at 17 W / mK. Your opinion on this? I think also to replace the pads on the processor heatsink. I have ordered better fans for my U3. And my wife use the fireplace more and more now:upset:

That's pretty great! Let us know if you ever manage T1 instead of T2 =D

Thanks. I have been wanted to set it to T1/CR1 for so long, but the BIOS/NVRAM won't save my change after reboot.

I also tried to set it through Khenglish's UEFI method, but after reboot the value was reset back to T2.

Not sure is it because of the mother board limitation or my memory sticks.

Using UEFI variables, I could set voltage over 1.20v, but I still can't boot my sticks to 3100 or 3192 MHz with 1.30 or 1.35v.

Last time I used CR1 was in my sold gt72s barebone, I could clock the 4x8G 2133 (normal green kingston) to [email protected].

Just got the new beast and breaking it in with some stock GPU benchmarks. I'm still testing to see what voltage the new 6700K likes. So far, seems to need less voltage than the other two I had. I have a baby-girl 4.3GHz CPU OC on these run, but GPUs are totally stock.

I gotta say, I just LOVE these fans. They're awesome. I don't care if they're loud. Temps are in the upper 60's and low 70's on both GPUs with max fans.

Dear Friend @Mr. Fox  many of us just waiting for you, @Prema and other Seniors to show us what this laptop can do with stable heat and performance. Take your time, for me and all my close friends just waiting for the results. I'm buying many used laptops for me and for my friends in my location just to fulfill our needs for now, hope that we can see the results soon.

Wish you all the best.

P150EM dGPU output progress continues! Now have image on boot! P0 now works! and that means... benchmarks!

Unfortunately this weird vBIOS I am using made me drop ~800MHz on memory clocks. The default memory clocks on this vBIOS is 6.6ghz, which is unstable, and in P0 I can only raise, not lower memory clocks. 3dm11 was the only major benchmark the unstable memory was able to complete. Also this score below is only at 4.2ghz cpu.

This is a 1.3V vBIOS as well. I think I am getting the performance loss of vBIOS 1.1V+, so if this were a 1.2V vBIOS I think I would score a few hundred points better. That 6.6ghz memory is also hurting a lot.

1550/6600 3dm11:

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11717053

I will soon have some optimus vs direct output performance comparisons. I will be running P1 so I can drop memory clocks to the stable range.

Here's some optimus vs direct performance comparisons. Unfortunately testing is very limited, as optimus will cap full screen fps to the refresh rate for me on win10. But here's some uncapped tests at 1228/5610, which is as high as P1 lets me go. I did not want to deal with the instability of testing P0.

time spy:

3483 dedicated

3482 optimus

windowed heaven 4.0 (windowed 1080P):

1415 dedicated

1402 optimus

fs ultra:

2801, 2778 dedicated

2726, 2588 optimus

So from this short testing time spy lost zero performance with optimus, heaven lost an acceptable 1%, but firestrike ultra was much slower. There is variation between tests in fsu, but up to 8% slower is a very significant performance drop.

So you ran 2076 core? I'm surprised it's still around 1k lower than a modded 980m.

Nope, that was set to:

Core: 1871Mhz

vRAM: 2350MHz

And throttled like no tomorrow with it's stock vBIOS...just a small test to compare apples with apples before hunting the green falcon...

Hello, as the title states, I would be very happy if someone could give me the link to the mod, apart from that, what version should I install?, as I've seen that some models have v1 and v2.
My other questions are: what do I have to do to install a new GPU?, (9xx series)
And what mods do I have to use to have a 10x0 series (and which are compatible).
I have the Clevo P150SM(model)/P150SM-A(product code) (2 models on the sticker) with stock bios (it says copyright 2012, so I guess it's the 1st version) with a 4710MQ and 870M.

I would be very pleased if someone could hand me the link.
      Many thanks in advance.

      Hi All

I've been searching all over the internet and these forums in particular and I just can't seem to get any answers regarding GPU upgrades for the Clevo P150HM. Neither can I get any real info on the difference between the HM and the EM model - the EM seems to be the much more talked about model.

Anyway, my current GTX 580M is causing a black screen very occasionally and I decided to purchase a used GTX 980M (N16E-GX-A1) from aliexpress as a replacement.
The seller isn't giving me much information and I am unsure if they've flashed the vbios on this card themselves, regardless of that I cannot seem to find a custom BIOS for this laptop either, the closest I found is P150EM_17_11_PM_v2 which is obviously for a EM not a HM model, again I don't know much about these two models and if attempting a flash with that BIOS will brick my laptop.

The 980M is the correct form factor, it fits in perfectly and even warms up when I turn the laptop on, I can see the POST screen display but then it simply maxes the fans and beeps out until it shuts down. It would seem to be a pretty clear indication of incompatibility.

      Model: Clevo P150HM
      MB Series: P150HMx
      BIOS Revision: 1.01.14
      KBC/EC Firmware Revision: 1.00.12
Another version number listed (not sure for what): 2.10.1208

I understand this is both an old subject and an even older laptop, but I would be extremely thankful for any help available and I am willing to drill down to create my own custom BIOS if necessary but I just need a point in the right direction.

Failing all that, its not the end of the world as they've already agreed to a return and refund if I can't figure this out.

      Thank you.

Hello, I have bought an empty case and assembled parts of Clevo P775DM1. Basically the laptop had no display or MXM Gpu or CPU. For test case I had a CPU lying around G3900 and put it in. I also have mxm gtx 965m Clevo card. I also have installed screen from alienware laptop 2k resolution 120hz. Now the problems.
      1) The laptop boots without a hastle. But as the nvidia drivers load the screen goes black and stays like that. At first I thought the GPU was dead but the external screen worked. Then I though maybe there is a problem with GPU not being recognized or something. Downloaded GPU-Z and every sensor is working fine. I tried saving vbios file and suddenly screen turned on. It probably disconnected the GPU and reconnected it again and as long as the laptop is on, GPU works without a problem. But if I restart it, the laptop screen turns black after boot and external works fine. That's the first problem.
      2) The second one is with Ram and I don't exactly understand the problem. I have 2x8GB rams 2133. single channel works without a problem, but when I try to use both of them the laptop does not boot at all. Won't start fans just blue led keyboard lights up. in single channel both rams work with no problem. And I've tried both slots, since the laptop has 4 slots. Still not working. If you can help with any of the problems, it will be much appreciated.

p.s. I have recently bought the laptop and haven't really figured out anything around it. if you have any extra pointers/bios mods I'd really appreciate it as well.

I've been scouring the internet in search of anything regarding an updated bios for my Clevo P170SM. I have found many mentions of Prema Bios mods on various websites, but good luck trying to find actual download links. They all seem to vanish or have dead links. Wayback Machine doesn't help either and I was only able to find stock Clevo bios as early as 2015 via the WayBack Machine. If anybody has an updates Prema Bios or some other unlocked bios file for the P170SM, that would be fantastic! Otherwise, I might have to consider paying over $100 to Eurocom for their unlocked bios.
