juukes
hey guys.. if a laptop draws air in from the bottom and vents it out the sides/back... should the cooling pad be blowing air up or pulling it down.. i never understood this. because ive seen a bunch of cooling pads that blows air downward away.. does this counter-act the airflow of the laptops cooling system? Ninjahunter
I believe it should be blowing air into the bottom vents to increase airflow. Off the top of my head, i know a lot of laptops that don't have any notable vents on the bottom, It might be beneficial in a situation like that. But im no expert on Cooling pads. xcskiier23
All of the models I have used or seen have blown air into the bottom of the laptop, flowing air into the vents to cool down those system components (in theory). I experienced lower temperatures with them, however nothing astronomical.
Samelmamel
I had an M11x that overheated to really high temps (around 90c). It drew air from the bottom and vents it out the back.Used a cooler that blows air upwards and it greatly reduced temps.(from 90c to 75c)
William Christian
It depends on your vent configuration on the laptop. Heat rises so theoretically you would want to blow cool air into the bottom of the laptop so the heat can escape through the top. This is excellent on say a Lenovo Y500 or most the Alienware Laptops that have the intake vents on the bottom and outlet vents that blow all the heat out the sides.
