Moderator BAKED Posted April 3, 2013 Moderator Share Posted April 3, 2013 3720QM and up to be exact. Yeah sorry with the 3720qm isn't only the turbo state OCable and the multiplier locked?
Guest
Yaeh Turbo can go 4 multis higher than stock...

selphie
3610qm can only have its reference clock overclocked I believe. You might be able to squeeze ~+5% out of it.All other settings such as multipliers are locked.
cl2500
Also, from what I've read on other forums, the i7-3610qm even at stock settings should have absolutely no problem with the 7970M. I used to have the P150EM with GTX 680M, and everything ran smoothly, even when the GPU was highly overclocked via a vbios. The i7-3610qm shouldn't be a bottleneck in your system in any way,
Frédéric Gilson
What you can do with that cpu is allowing the turbo "phase" to be longer. You have to work with the max tdp but it means that your cpu will be more hot before the turbo stop for cooling. It isn't really an oc but you can gain something in particular circumstance. But can I ask why do want to oc your cpu because it's a good cpu and it's not restrictive for the 7970m.

teun3sixty
Intel has intergrated it's own overclocking, where it oc's when needed. No need for further OC-ing either, considering games, 3610qm is a godfor gaming. Your graphics card, for voltage unlock, needs a bios mod. You need to research where to get that mod, and flash the bios(with a prepped usb)

Especially in games like Skyrim that tend to be CPU limited.
kaanstain
Hi guys, i've the same notebook, can i upgrade the processor from 3610 to 3820?
AviatorX
Yeah, the processor on the p150em can be upgraded as well as the gpu but, its really hard to find a place that sell laptop components. You could chech the website RJTech.com i know they sell some laptop video cards and cpus
