[BIOS/vBIOS - MODS] Prema Mod™ & Stock

The stock version that I've uploaded for you maybe for a different board version. Try to flash the Mod version.

We first tried to re-flash the modded g-sync vbios below and it went in fine with no mismatch ID errors, but with the same result as originally - black screen upon reboot

Are you 100% that he flashed the g-sync system BIOS and not the one for the regular model?

Usually if we cross-flash regular and g-sync versions it'll result in black screen on boot.

I am traveling atm and can't really access my files. Please drop me a mail (in your PM) so we can figure this out.

Sent you an email Prema, Yes, he couldn't get the NEW stock bios to work (board ID mismatch) so he ended up trying the modded g-sync bios which went in ok but still resulted in black screen.

Here is the modded g-sync bios he tried - https://mega.nz/#!CNdkzDia!q4q83PXLzw1lbp0IGlizOrbuTnKLLZiZfrRxnc5dH6Q

Here is the stock g-sync bios which resulted in the board ID mismatch - https://mega.nz/#!yMUlGaYR!FQH1nDXrkdLfYYisDPyDM_jxTFshLksEmvxRmcGVg8g

Have any one nvflash dump from 8GB MXM GTX980M-G?

In service center reflashed STOCK and MOD version via jtag but laptop(P770ZM-G) don’t start.

With replacement video card all work fine.

They have to manually add the padding bytes to fill the entire 256kb of the flash-chip. A regular dump won’t contain those.

I have added them here for you to re-program the chip:

Thank, notebook work. But i don't know they use this rom or extracted with GPU-Z from P771ZM-Gsync 980M.

What files did you use to flash?

Did you only flash the BIOS or also the ME and EC?

Hmm, we tested cross-flashing SM/SM-A before and the result, while not working properly and having broken keyboard backlights etc, at least didn't brick the system.

So there is hope. :)

Please make a CMOS reset (not recovery) and keep the proper files ready on the USB in case it boots up:

SM-A has different RAM handling. Remove all but a single RAM and try to boot.

Use this file to try the FN+B recovery procedure:

https://mega.nz/#!vQsVXRhR!rDCBQ4xsL44pJ0sVX_fdF7-V0EqqQNQjtBQgjgi9wjM

Keep all files for the regular proper BIOS update also on the USB in order to flash everything immediately afterwards in case it boots.

Thank you for your help Prema , but unfortunatelyits not my day today , i have just lifted my laptop , keyboard was not screw inand it fell out taking with it the piece that was solder in the motherboard.

Where did you get your laptop from? Was it from a UK reseller like Scan, XMG, PCS Specialist? If you did, ask your reseller first... Otherwise, I'd suggest looking at CEG Extreme... a German reseller... They should be able to sell you a motherboard without making a fuss like the UK resellers.. They're also quite cheap... got my P771ZM from them! Fastest way to contact them is through Facebook message.. search for Clevo Notebooks and it's got a German address and it's them..

HELLO.

i'm new here and i'm interested to flash the bios and vbios, but ii'm a little sceptic to the wrongs that could happen.

i don't see the moded bios advantages than the standard video to compare it to the stock bios and tell the diferences,if u could tell me

p.s: i have a p771zm non-gsync

after the flash of the moded bios can i come back to the stock bios if a black screen happens or a change of heart?

You can re-flash the stock vBios with the same procedure.. just backup your stock vBios with GPU-z or with the command nvflash -b filename.rom
