oldknuckle
I see the Clevo 7970M on ebay for $450 sounds like a great deal would it work with the M15x, or do I need to blind flash it with the Dell Vbios?Anything will help. Thanks guys... this forum is awesome keeping the old m15x alive ;-)
nidcuim
My clevo worked with the clevo vbios. Only flashed for 0.95v. Although prepare a autoexec batch to flash just incase. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
pewpewbangbang
should work, but you may have to control fan manually
oldknuckle
Good idea, autoexec.bat file takes care of having to do it blind. good thinking, thanks
mw86
Plus i think the card may be bricked if flashed with a Dell Vbios I believe so atleast. Paranoid Galaxy S3 on Tapatalk
twin snakes
i guess it should work with fan control automatically, since my m15x works great with clevo 6970m
nidcuim
i guess it should work with fan control automatically, since my m15x works great with clevo 6970munless something has changed, you'll need to use hwinfo to control the fan speeds with the clevo 7970m in the m15x. the dell 7970m has automatic fan control working
eastbayrae
Other than the price is there a difference between the Clevo part and the Dell?
Founder Brian Posted December 24, 2012 Founder Share Posted December 24, 2012 Other than the price is there a difference between the Clevo part and the Dell?Nope not really, the Clevo has double the ram so it may have better performance in games at higher resolution than 1080p vs the Dell card but that hasn't been tested yet. The Dell may do a bit better in synthetic tests like 3dmark 11 since it has half the memory and thus uses less power than the Clevo.
