Hi!

If your laptop model is MSI GT70 0NC, then you tried flash wrong bios version. Correct bios version for MSI GT70 0NC is ms_gt70.rom from archive MSI GT70 Unlocked.zip

Hi, I did upgrade graphic card from Radeon 5870m to GTX 860m in my GX740, and it works! Unfortunately i think there's a power limit in bios and new card can not work with full power (or i may be wrong?) HWInfo64 says the max power utilization by gpu is 68 Watts when i run Furmark, but that GTX have 100Watts TDP, so if I use unlocked bios then i'll be able to increase power limit for new GPU?

hello. I followed this guide and succeeded in BIOS UNLOCK !

Can I request a CPU microcode update?

I purchased the I7 3840QM CPU, but it does not work on my laptop.

I restored it to original CPU I7-2670QM and it worked fine.

Model : MSI GT780 DXR ( MS-1761 )

Hi!

MSI GT780 DXR ( MS-1761 ) use mobile Intel HM67 chipset.

Mobile Intel HM67 chipset does not support 3rd generation processors. CPU microcode update can't help in this case, it's hardware limitation. Choose any processor from the 2nd generation.

Oh, thank you. Following your advice I am buying an i7 2960xm.

I have one more question. I'm trying to use the Android emulator, but the emulator says VT is disabled on my system.

Access BIOS and enable VT option. The emulator still says VT is disabled on my system.

So, I disabled the VT option in BIOS. When I booted into Windows and ran securable.exe, it said that VT was activated.

It is said that the VT option is still disabled in the Android emulator.

How to solve this?

Hi!

You tried to flash the BIOS for another laptop model, so when flashing the firmware you see an error. Be careful, flashing a BIOS version that is not intended for your laptop model will break the laptop. There are no BIOS files for your laptop model ( GT70 2PC ) in this thread. Tell me, what exactly do you want to unlock in the BIOS and for what purpose?

Thanks for the reply, I assumed because it states GT70 that it covers all versions of the GT70.
If it was version specific surely it would be named GT70_2PE etc?

But anyway i am looking to enable overclocking options so i can underclock my cpu to decrease heavy load temps. I thought being a 'Gaming' laptop basic overclocking settings would be enabled by default but that is not the case unfortunately.

To underclock your CPU, you can try set the Windows Power Plan (in Windows Power Settings) to 99% max processor state.

hi! anyone have .11A unlocked bios for an msi gt60 2oc?

Hi!

Advanced BIOS:

Go to the BIOS (Del button during the MSI logo), and in it press the key combination:  left Alt + right Ctrl + right Shift + F2. There are a lot of settings, and a lot of sections with subsections.

Unlocking Bios On MOST MSI Laptops:
Press Delete key at startup to enter Bios,
At the BIOS screen Hold ALT, Hold Right Control, Hold Shift, And Press F2 while holding those 3 buttons, Advanced Menu will show up.

Please be careful with change any settings in bios setup menu! Before you change any settings in bios, you must absolutely exactly know what you want change and how!

If you set any settings to wrong value, then laptop break and can't start!
