MSI G-Series Unlocked BIOS

Xonar

Recommended Posts

This Friday ? ;)

I'm really bad with deadlines, sorry mate.

There should be an option under Advanced called "Extra". When you go into Extra it should take you to a new subfolder with a bunch of CPU options and memory timings, etc, etc. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

The only other way to download files is to become a T|I Elite Member.

It really is not hard to make 5 posts. Just find a couple threads where you can contribute to the discussion and enjoy!

Thanks, I will take a look to see if it can be enabled in "Main".

Unfortunately, I have to continue bothering you with testing because my notebook does not have the same issue that your's does. Hope you don't mind.

Regards.

Hi,

I bought GT780DX, It is very fast etc :), but fan is annoying...

Is it possible to make fan on GT780dx constantly blowing on slow speed when the laptop is idle and go faster when it is working hard with custom bios?

or may be it is needed to flash videocard?

Thanks

Hi Serg, welcome to T|I!

Unfortunately, the fan speed is controlled by the EC so you'll need to find a program to edit the EC. I have a link somewhere in this thread for it.

No that wasn't the issue I'm not using raid I set it to ahci before booting into windows. I encountered the weird problem when I accessed the bios even without changing anything.

And then when I booted up i got bootmgr is missing so I had to go into bios and reset defaults to be able to boot.

So whenever I went in to bios I had to reset defaults >> set ahci>>and reboot to be able to boot.

A guess is that I inactivated pxe and that messed up the boot order or sumtn.

This happened every time and like a said, it is weird :P

Hello please tell me what to do if after flashing the laptop will not turn on?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

It means you bricked your laptop. Somewhere along the way you did not follow the step-by-step procedure or you updated the wrong bios... Please go to page one of this thread so you can see the procedure of revivng your laptop.

GT 683 series are sandy bridge based processors in which you can upgrade to a sandy bridge procy only. GPU of GT683 are MXM board based. so meaning you can upgrade to a higher version of GPU for your laptop. Please ask the guru's here if you want to see the compatible GPU's for your laptop

Xonar,

There is an updated bios version from MSI for GT 60 series.

http://msi.com/product/nb/GT60-0NC.html#/?div=BIOS

you might as well put the modded bios version with this one regarding the memory tweaks, cpu unlock etc... tnx

Hi

There is something strange with this new bios.

The previous bios 10T does nothave any option to boot in UEFI mode.

Cant install the 50T bios.

I did ask MSI to comment and waiting for an answer.

EDIT

reading more on i it seems that new GT60/GT70 are shipped with a different bios which has a win 8 key embedded in the bios. Probably the 50T is only for GT60 shipped with win 8. If that is tue,Lets hope MSI will keep maintening both bios version.
