Hello all,

I'm really stuck right now.  I am trying to revert my vbios for my GTX 980m but I keep getting this issue:

Any thoughts?

Here is the comparison:

I originally did the opposite, replacing the 84.04.67.00.11 with the 84.04.2F.00.79 with no issues.

But now that I am going back, it will not let me.

Thank you all for your help!

Hi,

Well I don't know the exact problem with the ID, but if you can't get help and get it fixed you might just need to get a soic8 programmer with a test clip and program the chip directly that way. Also have you edited the bios file in any way? If so did you remember to recalculate the hash for the edited bios file?

I have no idea how I'd even begin this, and I really hope it is not necessary.

The 84.04.2F.00.79 VBIOS is the available one from techpowerup's collection

The 84.04.67.00.11 VBIOS is the original from my Sager P870DM-G laptop with dual SLI GTX 980m

Neither .rom has been altered by me at all.

Well I found a fix thanks to a better forum:

Use one of the below (still use -6 option and first use --protectoff)
