Y510P 1080p panel upgrade

My y510p comes with the dreadful 1366x768 TN panel which is just toxic to the eye, The plan is to install a beautiful 1080p IPS panel.

 

I'm aware that I need a new panel, LVDS cable and a new motherboard to go with it and there are many of them on ebay like this one.

Now The part I struggle with is finding a compatible panel and the appropriate LVDS cable, I want a high end IPS with good colors, price doesn't matter.

 

So I need your help cause I have never done this before.

Hi. I am not sure why you need new motherboard (shouldn't it support all panels designed for one laptop). When i planned to convert my laptop display in external monitor - i founded one company which selling kits for such conversion.

 

So, maybe you actually may get:

 

1. IPS panel which you like,

2. Ask about supporting this panel kit,

3. Buy everything and connect everything together;

4. Connect external monitor to GPU.
