Alienware M11x heat issues

Hi everyone,

i would love to hear your experience about the heat progression of your M11x Netbook

whatever revision you use. I own the R1 and the R3 since a few years and had with both revisions

insane heat issues while gaming (day z for example) or 3D modelling especially with the R3, with temps

about 90 degrees even after putting some new thermal paste on the cpu, cleaning the heatpipe, add some

aluminium heatsinks and so on...

If you have similar impressions please leave a comment.

Hi Mate,

I hava an i7 R3 as well. I noticed the same. Temps were around 90 degrees during gaming. Because of that the gpu was thermal throttling a lot. I did the same, clean the whole thing and applied new paste. Didn’t help :/ Did you manage to find any solution?

Use a coolerpad, this slightly reduces the heat generated, I have the m11x r3 and the temperature reaches 80c playing Metro 2033 and it also depends a little bit on the weather in your city.

Hey, do you modify something more at the M11x or only that extra cooling from outside?
