You can buy kits that adapt into iMac screens and you can turn them into essentially free-standing monitors, but not really worth it if you have a working iMac. Just buy a 27" screen that's 1080p, it's not like you're getting a retina display... If the goal is to keep everything apple, you can't use a 1070 to run OSX at the moment anyhow, get a 970 or 980.
