aricww
@J95 I'm having difficulties upgrading my m18xr1 video cardto dual 860m's or even a single 860m. On boot I get a blue screen followed by reboot; safe mode doesn't help. I've uninstalled all video/graphics drivers and tried both the unlocked 03 & 05 drivers and both video cards. I can only seem to get the laptopto boot with internal or 560m installed. I was told you might be able to help.... I've read your previous posts and followed your instructions; however, I can never get past the compatibility check with the Nvidia drivers. One thing I did notice is that while the bios seems to recognize the cards as Nvidia Graphics cards. The bios doesn't seem to know that they are 860m's , while with the old cards it does identify them as 560m's .. if that makes any sense...maybe that isn't helpful. Thanks in advance! momulah
I have been trying to update to new driver after modding .inf from my previous drivers I was using on windows 8. I am on newest official 10 update and after disabling driver sig it starts to install as usual but the prompt to install anyway does not appear and it fails. I am also running in legacy mode. Is there a differnt .inf file for windows 10 and maybe a mirror to dropbox or something to download it since I have not had my five posts as of yet? TomJGX
@J95 the nvdisp file is a total fail.. Drivers install but for any game GPU is stuck at lowest power setting... it doesn't ramp up at all.. Memory usage is like <100mb.. Trying ncvif or whatever the other one is..Edit: Have tried both, no difference. Drivers install however whenever I run game, GPU is stuck at lowest power setting which is 135/500 or something...I even reinstalled Windows 10 since it was installed in a Legacy manner earlier and made it UEFI but I am lost and don't know what else to do... @Lee James Wood, have you come across this bug or whatever? scarastisis
I think the drivers are just yet another mess just like the last long string of drivers from nvidia lately. I along with lots of other people are having issues with it so it's not just you. Gotta wait until they finally fix it or until there's a mod of some sort Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lee James Wood
Disable DSE, then re-install.Try my driver : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/46rritxlkhd0270/AAAYLmGI8lonNsXGfH-Rkvmsa?dl=0(I think your on a M17X-R4, right ?)And yeah, i have had the same issue. If I were to install without disabling DSE the driver looks like its installed, but really it is not. I also notice you will not get that special EXTRA prompt to "install anyways" when DSE is not disabled. The only other time I see the clocks go no-where, is when I do the old .INF tricks to the latest driver. There is a new process everytime now, as in, depending on if your card is running in Auto, or SG or PEG/dedicated mode, the hardware ID will be different, depending on that - theres a different file that needs to be modded for each mode, because each mode acts differently. Thats what I have come up to, but I am by far - no means of an expert here. There are people on this forum, who ARE experts at this exact issue.

I tried the modded inf from laptopvideo2go and hardly any better.. It seems no memory is being used by the GPU and clocks are stuck on low P-state... Wtf has NVIDIA released.. POS driver.. J95
Thanks in advance! momulah
Woodstocks driver 353.17 is working fine for me on the official Windows 10 update. Heaven scored 1500 using optimus. Frames seemed to be locked at a max of 60fps during the benchmark though. I'll run 3DMark and then switch to dedicated to see the difference in performance. I want to try the newest driver 353.62 but I cannot yet download the windows 10 proper inf file for dedicated. I have the driver just need someone to post a mirror of the proper windows 10 .inf so I can get it installed. The inf from 353.17 is nvgb and the one from 353.62 is nv_disp so don't know and dont want to try and see if its interchangeable. Can someone again post a mirror for me? NVCPL set to high performance, add games/applications it's probably running optimus. I have been using the advance restart method to disable driver signature enforcement (Is there anything wrong with that?)... NVIDIA control pannel settings is always on high performance and yes I am running Optimus mode... I'm going to install 353.62 again... Never had so much trouble making this work before...
