rmitch
Hello: I am trying to get this eGPU configuration to work with my new Mac Pro. The GPU (Tesla K40c) is installed in the Akitio, and powers on (300W external power supply, 6-pin + 8-pin connectors). After connecting the TB2 cable to the Akitio, I ran goalque's automate-eGPU.sh version 0.9.9. Output: *** automate-eGPU.sh v0.9.9 - (c) 2016 by Goalque *** ------------------------------------------------------- Detected eGPU GK110BGL [Tesla K40c] Current OS X 10.11.6 15G31 Previous OS X 10.11.4 15E65 Latest installed Nvidia web driver Version: 346.03.15f02 Source: 3rd Party Install Date: 8/16/16, 4:12 PM You are running official Nvidia driver. Checking IOPCITunnelCompatible keys... Missing IOPCITunnelCompatible keys. Mac board-id found. Searching for matching driver... Driver [346.03.15f02] found from: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Mac/Quadro_Certified/346.03.15f02/WebDriver-346.03.15f02.pkg Do you want to download this driver (y/n)? n Ok. I have tried this multiple ways, each after an uninstall, reboot, and a fresh install. The options I've tried: -a -skipdriver -m In all cases, the behavior has been the same. The eGPU is visible under System Report (see attached screen shots). However, since this is a Tesla card, it does not have any video out connections (strictly for GPGPU / CUDA). I do not have an external monitor connected to the eGPU. This appears to cause problems after reboot (main monitor, Apple Thunderbolt) is on, but "dark" (slight blueish glow, but nothing displayed, shortly after the Apple logo appears). Also, if I logout, I lose the main display, same features as above. It looks like the driver really really wants a monitor attached to the eGPU. Is anyone aware of a potential fix for this issue? Any help appreciated
rickkierkels
I should try it again with High Sierra 10.13.1, Cuda and latest webdrivers from Nvidia installed. Works with my Titan Black and Akitio TB2 with external PSU to!
