I am also considering using a GTX 970 with my mac mini 2012.

 

Are you finding it running ok using the power supply that came with the Akito?

 

Most of the other guides recommend power to be from the same power supply used for the card using some kind of barrel connector?

powering the ankitio with the cord they supplied works fine, everything is running great.
