Alienware 13 - nVidia 960m Overclocking
AngieAndretti posted a topic in AlienwareI just recently received my newest Alienware purchase - the new 13" model with an nVidia GeForce GTX 960m (a Maxwell chip.) I'm aware of the recent debacle in which nVidia disabled all mobile overclocking in their drivers, I believe versions 345.09 and up. It's also been said that they've disabled it in their new vBIOSes as well. However I was able to uncover a link in which users are confirming that version 347.88 enabled overclocking even on cards that are intended to be clock-blocked in vBIOS: NVIDIA 347.88 Game Ready Driver - 17/03 (re-enables overclocking!) | NotebookReview There's even a user who reports having inf-modded that driver to allow installation with the new 960m, and claims to have unlocked overclocking capability. However, as yet I've been unsuccessful in modding that same driver to install on my system. I've copied the main ListDevices.txt file and all the .inf files in the Display.Driver folder over from version 350.12 which naturally supports the 960m but the result reports "required files are missing" and will not install. Could someone with more experience than I when it comes to inf-modding a driver give me some pointers? Any other ideas or solutions for unlocking the likely massive OC potential of the 960m? vBIOS mod perhaps? I've seen a mod for the 970m along with a modified nvflash EXE. I can provide my current vBIOS if anyone is willing to look into it!! Thank you!!
Dell 7559 vBIOS modding.
IAmSteveRogers posted a topic in General Notebook DiscussionsI have been attempting to change my boost clocks values for the longest time, though I've been unsuccessful. I managed to flash my modded BIOS, though no changes seem to have had happened, along with no errors either. Here's all the stuff I used and was able to get. If someone is able to help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Overclicking 960mHello i have a maxed out alienware 13r1 16gb ram 960m and i want to overclock it but i have no idea how or how much could someone help me?
I have a reseller model clevo laptopHello im new in this forum and a new clevo user i have some problems and questions if you can help me i would be very thankful.Specs:17.3" N173HGE-E115700hq960m 2gbIntel wlan 7265alc269 audio codecelan mousepad1x sata for hdd1x m.2 sata Photo of the device: http://puu.sh/m2BAw/90ab35a4b4.jpg yeah it's dusty So i found prema mod thread and i couldnt find my clevo stock model anywhere i want to know if there is a bios mod for my model. Also there is a program called control center with the drivers and if i dont install i cant play games. 960m doesnt seem to ramp up when i dont install control center funny part is they give this as Hotkey program. Is there anyway to fully use my laptop without installing this crap. Another thing is sometimes when fan control is set to auto it doesnt ramp down the fans when im not using anything and temps are low but when i set turbo and back to auto for a sec it returns to slow fan speeds. One more thing there is strange thing with Autocad program when i use it with battery, program lags a lot. It shows graphic card in hw acceleration intel hd even though it uses 960m and while i use i checked gpu-z card doesnt ramp up its speed it stays around 33mhz core clock it but normally it can go up to 200~mhz core clock speeds while on battery. My old laptop with 630m runs Autocad flawlessly on battery.Ask me if any other info is needed.Thank you
