MSI GT60, GTX 675m (Died), please help...

I sent my laptop (MSI GT60-0ND) to check up and the video card was confirmed dead, I learned that I can upgrade my GPU, but I can't take a step without any help. Many told me its risky and the market is tight. http://www.compeve.com/video-cards/mobile/pny-nvidia-geforce-gtx-680m-2gb-mxm-video-card-89v00664-m ^I found this card, GTX 680M, and it looks absolutely the same one as (GTX 675M) and the slot is compatible, however due to reviews, the 680M is way faster than my previous one, if that poses any threat. If someone can check it for me and tell me whether its good or not, I'd appreciate it.

GTX 675M vbios

Hy everone! Is there a unlocked vbios for the GTX 675M for under-, overvolting? Or is there a Programm for Nvidia vbios Editing? I Have only found One for AMD Chips and the newer Kepler Chips but none for Fermi. I`m using a Clevo P150EM if that is important. Thanks halo19fan89

MS-1762 upgrading from gtx 675m

Hello Everyone. This is my first post, I'm not really that well educated in the world of laptops, so please go easy, I might need a bit of hand holding here. my laptop is the GT70-0nc, its the barebones MS-1762 I believe, I bought it from a custom laptop builder online. The 675m is fried I think, BSOD all over the place, disabling it and switching to my HD4000 integrated fixed the BSOD. I'm looking into upgrading the GPU of my laptop except there's some things that have me completely baffled... 1. Which GPU's are actually compatible? - I was looking at the 680m but if there are newer gpu's that work I'd love consider those too. 2. I have read a lot about flashing my BIOS, this really confused me. I get the American Megatrends Logo on boot up, so I tried checking out their BIOS but everything i've read says use the MSI VBios? I have a good bit of experience with the hardware in my laptop, I've taken it apart quite a few times like to change thermal paste / general maintinence and upgrade my WIFI card. it's the software and compatibility issues that are really getting me stuck. Any help would be massively appreciated! Thanks
4. I'm aware that this problem has come up before and is likely solved, but I am new to the forums so i need to post to have full access to these resources, so i figured i may as well start a new thread. The computer I plan on putting this into is a MS-1762 Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit i7-3630QM Quad-Core 2.4ghz 8GB DDR3 @ 1600mhz Chipset: HM77 / Intel Ivy Bridge My goal in this thread is to be prepared for when the card arrives. I have never flashed a VBIOS before so I will take all the help and advise I can get.

Clevo P150HM + GTX 675M (GPU not detected)

Hello, I have Clevo P150HM with GTX 675M. However my notebook can not detect graphic card. I've tried everything. I've upgraded BIOS from P150HM to P170HM. I've upgraded GPU BIOS to this from the second post: Looking for VBios for 675m | NotebookReview I've upgraded GPU BIOS to this from this post: Please identify this 675m card. | NotebookReview Laptop still can not detect the GPU under BIOS and Windows. The only way to install drivers and detect GPU under Windows is installing drivers from LaptopVideo2Go with modded *.inf Could someone help me in this problem?
6. Hi all I decided to upgrade my M15X. Current configuration: DDR3 SDRAM 4.096 MB @ 1.333 MHz 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX260M 500GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 720QM Im looking for nVidia gtx 670M and gtx675M, but no idea what works better on my laptop, I was read some issues about power supply (75W or 100W), about throttling and about incompatibilities. Im reading your posts, and get more and more doubts, can somebody help me? Thank you so much!
7. Title says it all. i have in front of me a set of 675m's and 6990m's. which would perform better in terms of speed and reliability? don't really care about battery power since i use my laptop on ac power all the time. yes i know the 675m's are rebadged 580m's, got them as cheap as chips so thought they would be of some use in the future. i have an m18x r2! any help appreciated
8. So... after months of wild speculating and guessing we finally have some first official numbers regarding the new mobile GPUs of Nvidia. Here the specifications listed on the official Nvidia site: GTX 660M GTX 670M GTX 675M Graphics Clock 835MHz 598MHz 620MHz CUDA Cores 384 336 384 Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 30.4 33.5 39.7 Memory Interface DDR3/GDDR5 DDR3/GDDR5 DDR3/GDDR5 Memory Clock 2000MHz 1500MHz 1500MHz Memory Interface Width 128-bit 192-bit 256-bit Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 64 72 96 Max SLI Configuration 2-Way 2-Way 2-Way 610M GT 620M GT 630M GT 635M GT 640M LE GT 640M GT 650M Graphics Clock 900MHz 625MHz 800MHz 675MHz 500MHz 625MHz 850MHz CUDA Cores 48 96 96 144 384 384 384 Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 7.2 10 12.8 16.2 16 20 27.2 Memory Interface DDR3 DDR3 DDR3/GDDR5 DDR3 DDR3/GDDR5 DDR3/GDDR5 DDR3/GDDR5 Memory Interface Width 64-bit 128-bit 128-bit 192-bit 128-bit 128-bit 128-bit Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 14.4 28.8 32 43.2 28.8 64 64 There are seven 600m series GPUs which can be considered low- to middle-end and three which are high-end.No word on the Nvidia site about which manufacturing process is being used for these chips, but the statement telling one should assume that they really shifted to 28nm only, but I want to see this confirmed before I really believe this to be true.Anyway, looking at the specs of Nvidias new mobile flagship, the GTX 675m I can't help but to think that they just shrinked the fermi architecture... the specs and clocks are identical to the 580m. They might also have messed up the numbers they put on the site, it just seems unlikely that all GPUs from the 640m up to the 675m all have the same core count (except for the 670m).Well, I guess we will see more information in the near future, when the first systems with these GPUs are getting released. I'm definitely curious about how they perform and can't wait to see some benchmarks. Also the overclocking capability is going to be a very interesting point. So far there's no word about new features for this GPU series, so it's unclear whether the "clock boost" technology which can be found in the desktop GTX 680 will also make its way to the mobile GPUs. Here some performance graphs, also taken from Nvidias website: So far I'm really not that impressed, though we have yet to see the real world performance, and tbh I'm really curious about the AMD 7000m series :)
