  1. Hi Forum, I would like to request modding that will not brick my device ofc to get UEFI GUI interface just like newer UEFI BIOS on modern motherboards as much as possible and to get hidden features unlocked on my latest version of BIOS Update I've done and here's my dump of the current BIOS I have I've got from CPU-Z tool. By the way, my device model is Lenovo G580 2189 Serial No. CB16549069 Informations that I think will be enough for the start: bios.txt: https://pastebin.com/SQ9za9g0 vbios.txt: https://pastebin.com/k6RgjMJC motherboard.txt: https://pastebin.com/PS33qz4s
  2. Hello everyone I'm new on this forum and i'm new with clevo laptop. 5. i want an unlocked bios. laptop: ASUS ROG G751JL GPU: GTX 965M with 2GB GDDR5 stock bios rom: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OiB61aGlFyfDYpN5e61Fo31x7OdyQg5H/view?usp=sharingGM204.rom i want it to be able to overclock it even more for gaming.
  6. alienware 15 r2 970m with i7-6700hq vbios request so i can overclock and mess with voltage. BIOS version backup made with techpowerup GPU-z. GM204.rom or can someone re direct me to one already made that will work? all links i find are dead, thanks.
  7. I have been attempting to change my boost clocks values for the longest time, though I've been unsuccessful. I managed to flash my modded BIOS, though no changes seem to have had happened, along with no errors either. Here's all the stuff I used and was able to get. If someone is able to help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Hello, I'm on an alienware m17 r4 and am trying mod my vbios for a 970m 3GB msi. I've managed to get the max boost with an increase in voltage, however I believe my voltage settings maybe unstable. When attempting to load programs capable of high gpu usage capabilities, the gpu begins to become pretty unstable. would anyone be able to provide assistance? I have both my edited and original roms as well. *update I'm not sure how to delete this thread but disregard this please. I've figured out the issue.
  9. Hello, I have a Medion Erazer x7841 gaming laptop. I want to onstall a custom bios to pass the overclocking limit of 135Mhz. Does anyone can halp me with this? Thanks alot for any help-
  10. Would really like some help with this. I Have a HP 8770W Elitebook Workstation. its powered by an Intel Core i7-3630QM, 32GB RAM and an Nvidia Quadro K4000M. the Quadro's stock clock is 600 MHz- Core/ 700 MHz- Memory. its currently overclocked 736 MHz (+135 MHz)- Core/ 1050 MHz (+750 MHz)/ 1100 MHz (+800 MHz)- Memory. The GPU temps stay fairly decent in summer ( between 70-75 Degrees Celsius) while loaded and CPU around 5 degrees higher. In winter the drop to the mid/high 60's so i believe there is still some space there to push it a bit harder. The problem is nor Nvidia Inspector nor MSI Afterburner allow me to overclock the core over 135 MHz, the memory i know is maxed out because anything over just bugs out. Is there anything i can do that would allow me to go over that threshold of 135 MHz.
  11. So I'm a recently father of 1 and struggling military personnel. No need for more details. I'm building a "gaming desktop" out of parts I'm collecting out of other people's trash basically. Running on all 2012 standards. currently I'm using a AMD Athlon II x4 clocked at 2.6 GHz on a Pegatron M2N78-LA (Violet6) motherboard with 500Gb of space and a Zotac Nvidia GT 640. I'm really proud of this setup so far because the overall price of the desktop is currently sitting at $10 for the Arctic Silver to replace the old thermal paste. The main thing I'm wanting to know from this community is whether or not the AMD Phenom is a decent processor. On paper it looks fine, but i have never built with it before, therefore I'm uncertain. Also if anyone knows of a cheap cheap MOBO that is still high quality and has 4 DIMM slots and preferably at least AM3+.
  12. Hey guys,i am enhancing my asus K53SV ( i7 2630qm) with an eGPU GTX 1060 and im planning to buy a better CPU to reduce the CPU bottleneck on the 1060. At the moment, i have a 130W power supply ( 90W stock). I bought a Destkop CPU Cooler ( Cooler Master Hyper T2) to handle the CPU temps and im wondering if a 2960XM would overclock to lets say at least 3.5GHz on 4 cores stable for gaming. I know the stock BIOS wont allow the 2960XM to work but i will update the CPU Microcode to make it accept the 2960XM. So here are the questions :1- Does the CPU microcode manual update work ?2 - Can the motherboard, designed for a 45W CPU without overclocking handle 55W+ (lets say 80-90W for the overclocking) ?3- is a minimum of 3.5GHz on 4 cores stable possible with the 130W PSU, lets say that the motherboard only has to power up the CPu and the others main components (HDD, RAMs, etc), there is no dedicated GPU, so it has way more juice for the CPU alone.
  13. Hi everyone, I was looking into overclocking my 4800MQ, so I installed XTU. I'm more or less a beginner at this, however I noticed when I try to benchmark my CPU, the ''current limit throttling'' is almost always occurring. I've tried increasing the processor current limit and undervolting as well but it has no effect. Also, the package TDP doesn't seem to go above 39-40W... Could anyone help me with this? Why is my CPU throttling without reaching its limit?
  14. I will be taking apart my laptop soon to clean it up a bit and apply some new thermal paste. Figured while I am trying to get some lower temps on my cpu and what I might give overclocking the GPU a try to squeeze out a little bit more perfomance out of them. Started looking around and found that the clocks have a hard limit on stock vbios. Was looking to unlock that and found these forums. Since I am in no hurry as of yet, the 1 week pre-promotion is a moot point for me at the moment. But honestly part of this post is to get promoted so I can download the files I want. Apart from that do you guys have tips or can you guide me to info on overclocking? I checked out some videos, the files I want to download come with instructions, so I should be good on that. However things like figuring out what the optimal overclocking settings are, what to look out for and what not. If you guys have tips on that please let me know. If anyone else has the same model/gpu as mine; I would appreciate any tips! Thanks, Fatih
  15. Hello, good morning, I would like to know if there is a possibility of overclocking the Geforce GT 640 M LE, thanks.-
  16. Hi, I'm looking for some help with overclocking my laptop's 960m past the 135 mhz restriction on the current vbios, which is a part of the main bios.
  17. I cant seem to find any source to get an unlocked Vbios for my GTX 970m card. Can anyone help please? I want to get the most of my GPU and sadly the stock Vbios does not support too much overclocking Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Hello. I recently cleaned my laptop and changed thermal paste, so GPU has a lot of headroom for OC. At full load it's at 60c. And throttling only starts at 87c for both CPU and GPU. I searched everywhere, but it seems no one really modded this laptop's VBIOS. I found one person who does it, but he requires a donation for it. Since I don't have a lot of money I didn't even try to donate and see if it's enough. So maybe someone can help me out here? The laptop is with i7-4720HQ downclocked to 3.0 Ghz instead of 3.6 Ghz due to temperatures at full load, 16 GB of DDR3 ram and a GTX 970M 3GB. Added link for original VBIOS file. https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GE72-2QF-Apache-Pro-4.html#down-firmware Direct download link from MSI. Driver version for the lazy - 84.04.26.00.29.

  20. Hello. I have a Clevo P650SE laptop. It's GTX 970M (3072MB) and non-mxm. Looking for vbios. Here is the data. Have a nice day.
  21. Well, after my ZBook died because of faulty bios (hardware related) and it had a K4100M (OC) with HP vBios, i wanted it to be on my old 8770w, but it just gave me no screen output (laptop screen) only on VGA (didn't test on DP cuz i got no DP Monitor nor cable) and i liked how the K4100M had better performance than the K4000M (Well the oc made the bandwidth go from the original 102 GB/s, to 200 GB/s [Not stable at all in some games like Rust, or Heavy iray rendering] vs the K4000M 89 GB/s [BTW I couldn't find any SAFE way to oc it] So I decided to make some research and testing,, Long ago before I started searching on how to do this change of gpu i found out that people had 980m in their 8770w and also k5100m without any errors, just by modifying the drivers, i tried so and failed. This is my laptop Specs: HP EliteBook 8770w Quadro K4000M Intel i7 3820mq 2x500GB WD Blue (Only ones i had around empty in my inventory) 20GB of ram (I know its not "correct" but i used 3x4GB and 1x8GB RAM sticks) 1080p Screen Non-Dreamcolor Windows 10 Pro 64 Bits - Creators Update (Btw im in Insider Program) Notes: This laptop has no Optimus support as far as i know, I havent tested on more vbios, only on 1 OC Dell Vbios I didnt test video output on DP, Beacuse i have no DP Monitor nor a cable, and i dont need it, at all. The laptop didnt give any video on integrated screen, only on vga with OC HP vbios and aswell Original (Backed up) vbios, only with the Dell vbios made successful output to laptop screen. There was video going on at VGA without nvidia drivers, if i installed the drivers the screen had artifacts like random colors then the laptop freezes and shutdowns with errors, even with dell vbios. GPU temp was higher than usual, even when it wasn't on high load. I was able to run Besiege at 5 fps without a driver (Only with Microsoft Display adapter). So by some hours of testing this were the results: I replaced the K4000M with the K4100M, I used windows recovery thing at startup (since the nVidia drivers from K4000M bugged the hell out the screen output) then I selected the CMD option, did cd to the folder where i had nvflash, flashed my gpu from there, with a OCed DELL vbios, (link), and then restarted my laptop, I was so excited because i made it make video output through the laptop screen, and then i loaded windows normally and the drivers started to bug the screen and then windows crashed after 4m every time i logged to windows (even without logging in), it said Video tcp failure (or something) and Watchdog_DPC_violation, So i used a fresh windows install (from a HDD i had around), it did give 1080p video output to laptop screen and i didnt test anything at all, so then installed Normal Nvidia drivers (from nvidia not hp neither dell) and then it started to bug again, And well, Then i tried using Ubuntu (17) and the screen give 1080p output without problems, i was going to install nvidia drivers but it was too difficult for the short time i had to test, so i didn't finished up testing with Ubuntu, As some dude told me at other forums that it might be an Optimus driver bug or something, so later on ill try testing with modified drivers. Also the GPU temp was high, i didn't check out the temp, but the laptop was too hot for normal use and used too much battery life (i found out when i was playing around with Ubuntu at my couch). And months before, I found out that in Nvidia page it said that the K4100M worked only on Haswell Generation (4th gen), and not Ivy Bridge, now it says that supports Shark Bay, which is kinda new, since that "option" wasn't there before. This is what ill do next time i make another test: I'll use another vbios a not OC one, just a normal one, Modify nVidia Drivers to try removing optimus (if posible) Finish testing up in Ubuntu Try to use older Drivers to see if anything happens. Post the pics of the Artifacts and a video of besiege running with Default video Driver

  23. Hello all, I finaly bought a i7 3940XM after 4 year (old 3610QM) ! and I cat overclock it in the unlocked bios.... 1762IMS.30U (by xonar) Wenn ich go the the menu ICC its show me "ICC Overclocking unavailable Library failed to initialize" why ? could someone help me ? Thanks you !
  24. Got a Alienware 17 R3 with GTX 970 M. Trying to overclock the GPU and need to download a VBIOS. Tried to download the file: Nvidia GTX 970m - 'OC edition' rev0.zip 1.0.0 from techinferno site but it would not let me. Can anyone point out a site that can get me going? Thx
  25. I posted about this over here, but that has not gained much traction, so I figured that this might be a better place to ask. The full details are in the Reddit post, in case I forget something here, but essentially, I am having trouble with what appears to be a CPU TDP throttle restricting my 3920xm overclock when the package power reaches 55W. My specs are: System: M17x R4 CPU: 3920xm GPU: GTX 980m RAM: 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit (MBR/legacy boot with Optimus) PSU: 330W BIOS: A11 Unlocked No matter what multiplier I set in the BIOS or Intel XTU for any combination of 1, 2, 3, or 4 cores active (currently trying 42x for all) my CPU still throttles back to 3.6GHz under a benchmark. Moderate loads of around 50% see a max ratio of 40x~41x but still not meeting the overclock I set. Under a full load at 3.6GHz my CPU is only reaching about 88º C with both an upgraded CPU fan and a repaste, so I don't think that thermal throttling is causing this trouble at the moment. ThrottleStop lights up the "TDP Throttle" indicator when this happens, and looking under TPL shows that ThrottleStop is reading a Turbo Boost power limit of just 55W (which is Intel's factory max). I do have "Turbo PWR Limit MSR Lock" disabled in my BIOS, and current limits maxed. To be fair, though, this BIOS is still very unfamiliar and difficult to navigate for me, so I could very well have incorrectly adjusted some values. Is there a way to force the (Turbo) TDP limit higher than 55W? Is my system actually capable of sending more power than this to the CPU? Is there maybe something wrong with my CPU that causes it to ignore my BIOS settings?
