Hello, A couple of days ago I got a new GPU but when I installed it into my computer I was unable to use it but now I know why. When checking the device manger I went into the events tab of my GPU when I went to view all events, I noticed an error it said " event 411 kernel PnP " and It also said Problem Status: 0xC01E0438. I believe this is why my GPU hasn't been working on my PC. If you know how to fix this problem or have info on how to fix this problem that would be greatly appreciated. I'm also using a EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660.

I'm having a problem where my PC is saying my eGPU is not usable, its detected in the Device Manager and it doesn't have the yellow triangle next to it. I cant use it games and the Nvidia Control Panel doesn't recognize it either. I'm using a EVGA NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660. I'm using windows 10 and I tried DDU and reinstalling them and now I cant access the nvidia control panel. The GPU is not recognize on any other apps and I went on *********** and was unable to find my answer, Any help on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Title sums it up. TL;DR: we have a Clevo that runs a desktop CPU, one with those huge 82 Wh batteries. We remove the GPU and let it use the CPU's integrated graphics. How much time for the battery to go from 100 to 0? Is it comparable to an ultrabook's? I'm theorizing a mobile set with a static eGPU and an upgradable CPU. Given a hypothetical user that needs fast processing on the go and long battery life while retaining very high degrees of mobility, but at home wants a powerful machine to run most games, I guess that would be their best bet. It would surely be more convenient to keep everything in the same disk. And even though the thing would be quite heavy to carry around, changing CPU would be more cost-efficient than changing an entire laptop. (Not sure if I'm right here, and also I'm not sure whether the motherboard in a Clevo would be replaceable when the new CPU needs a different socket, which is another reason why I'm asking here.) If my above guesses aren't correct, then an ultrabook with Thunderbolt and without a dedicated GPU would be a better choice. If they are, then we would be carrying more weight in exchange of a more cost-efficient setup, which I think would be a fair tradeoff. Also I am aware of the heating problems that these laptops suffer from, at least compared to a desktop setup. Would they be solved by moving the GPU out of the chassis, and instead plugging it with an eGPU dock via Thunderbolt port? What do you think? Is it doable? If not, why?

Hi, I want to show you my new project. I bought my laptop about 5 years ago. It was never speed deamon, but for every day use, it was enough to me. Its specification: Intel i7-4700MQ Nvidia GeForce GT745M 16GB RAM 512 SSD Adata SU800 Yesterday I bought Witcher 3. Of course on 1080p it's impossible to play, because of about 10fps So I make a decision to buy external grahpic card. I choose GTX970 and now I am looking for occasion to buy it. I've already bought EXP GDC v8.4d mPCI-E. It is used and cost about 30$. I will use ATX PSU to supply graphic card, because I have old desktop PSU at home. My plan: 1) unlock bios 2) buy GTX 970 3) enjoy Witcher 3! BTW I try to cool down my laptop, so I replaced thermal paste to Kryonout Thermal Grizzly and make some tests. Temperatures and fps are on screenshots. 1) laptop on table, playing GTA V 1080p - first minute (GPU core 1045MHz) -after some time, because of high temperature and GPU throlttling (GPU core drop down even to 400MHz) 2) with thermalpad Glacier NC400 SilentiumPC - 30 minute and longer (GPU core drop to about 900MHz) 3) without down case of laptop (like on picture with thermal paste) on thermalpad. Here laptop never drops down MHz and max temp are about 72 Celsius degrees. Bacause of that I bought second down case for my laptop and I will cut there additional holes. Greetings! I will describe next step when I get all stuff I need!

Hello everyone I created a case for egpu using 2.5mm acrylic sheets. The first time I created a case to support a GPU + ATX psu Now I created another one for the GPU with an external Xbox 360 203w psu. the finish was not good but for my use it is already good. *both cases album *Construction of the second case *adapting xbox psu to 8pin power (taken from 24pin) all made by hand with the tools I had. from Brazil.

Hi there guys, I've been looking into getting a new GPU for my laptop (4-lane PCI-e) and enclosure (HP Omen Enclosure) but I cannot decided between the RX 5700 XT and the RTX 2070 (non SUPER). I did some price to performance calculations (higher is better) with some of the best prices I can currently get in the UK. The RX 5700 XT does perform better and is cheaper than the RTX 2070 (Although the 2070 does come with 2 games) but my main concern is drivers and from what I've heard NVIDIA cards work a lot better with eGPUs than AMD. If anyone has experience using both red & green or if anyone else has any other input i'd love to hear your experiences and input. Thanks.

Hi guys, bit of a rookie to the whole EGPU scene. Currently I have: - MacBook Pro 2015 13inch (3.1GHz Core i7 16GB RAM) - Razer X Core - Apple TB3 to TB2 Adapter - TB2 Cable (Cable Matters) - 23inch AOC External Monitor I am wonder about what graphics card to get to run X-Plane11 with high graphic settings? I have purgewrangler set up and ready to use with an AMD graphics card, but am also open to the idea of an Nvidia graphics card. Any advice appreciated. I did not buy a Windows PC as I need a Mac for various other things and wanted an all-in-one laptop.

The GPU works, The PSU works, The system works. [individually they all do work] The system works perfectly fine without the WLAN card. When i put the system to sleep and hotswap the mPCIe riser and WLAN press something on the keyboard.. Restarts. Will shutdown in roughly 27 seconds for those 27 seconds it works just fine like how it normally would on external monitor. When i shut it down and plug the riser and switch it on, same story. 27 seconds. I don't even see a error. I get to login screen directly. I used DDU already. I timed it. no matter what i do if i use the eGPU, External monitor it restarts instead of pause-play. I have 27 seconds. Need help!

Has any company out there launched a laptop with an external MXM port? Just curious since with the boom in the gaming laptop market and some companies launching eGPU thunderbolt enclosures, isnt the MXM faster? Is it because of licensing issues? or hardware problems?

Hello guys ... i wanna make sure that everything is going to work fine with my laptop so i got some questions First of all my laptop is Lenovo Z51-70 CPU: I5-5200U 2.2ghz iGPU Intel HD 5500 dGPU:AMD R9 M375 Ram: 8GB (will raise it to 16GB) HDD: 1TB stock one SSD: 120GB (for my games and windows only) now i investigated a little about eGPUs and found that i need a M.2 or thunderbolt, i've found that my wifi card use a M.2 a/e key aka ngff, so i will be using the GDC Beast NGFF version to the bad part / question part What do i need to know other than the stuff above? what is the white-listing thing? i found on support forums that my laptop support some wifi cards only and it's bios cann't be modified according to bios modifying forums (not here) in same time saw some posts on reddit that says if ur bios have UMA graphic option then you will need to disable PAX / WIRELESS and enable UMA and it will work fine, the question is that true? i wasn't able to find anyone who did it on Z51-70 i found only 1 post on reddit for Z41-70 (which after research found that both are using same M.2 a/e key slot and also same bios... but the one who posted only replied that it's recognized with some errors and never replied back with any updates so still not sure about it.....

Hello everyone. I put on a eGpu setup after quite a bit struggle 2 years ago and I used play games just fine. After a while I sold my graphics card gtx 970. Now since 2 days I am trying to put the eGpu setup back again this time with a Gtx 770. I couldn't understand the problem. I can shut my dGpu off with diy 1.30 setup. ( usb booted) And my laptop sees gtx 770 along with my igpu Intel HD graphics 4000. After driver installation when I try to play a game laptop is tring to use iGpu instead of Egpu. (tried to delete and install driver few times) With MSI afterburner I can see eGpu is %0 all the time. Can it be power problem cause graphic cards fans ( Msi gtx 770 twinfrost ) are working all the time they dont stop. Or what else can it be. Thx.

In case you own a Lenovo Y410p or Y510p laptop, you might be interested in upgrading its performance by installing an external graphics card. Ultrabay eGPU adapter designed by @gerald was proven to be a convenient plug-and-play option to do exactly that. However, for a long time only an AMD-branded GPUs could be used due to limitations in the Lenovo's stock BIOS. The purpose of the modified firmware presented here is to expand the range of available GPUs by enabling Nvidia support on Gerald's Ultrabay eGPU adapter. Huge thanks to: @MWichni - For efficiently assisting me during the development of this mod. By flashing dozens of BIOS builds over the course of several weeks and thoroughly describing the effects observed (or the lack thereof), he enabled me to fully understand necessary parts in BIOS structure and come up with a final solution. @svl7 - Whose unlocked BIOS / Whitelist mod has served as a basis for this modification. His discovery of a security hole in V2.07 BIOS has provided us with a convenient BIOS flashing method that does not require a physical programmer. The Unlocked BIOS and WLAN whitelist mods originally designed by him are also implemented in this BIOS mod. @gerald - For designing the aforementioned adapter. Without it, all this work would make very little sense. Key features: Resolves the "40-second reboot" issue normally encountered while using Nvidia graphics cards with Ultrabay eGPU adapter, thus allowing all Nvidia cards to be used. Based on the latest V3.08 BIOS. Includes Svl7's WLAN whitelist removal mod - for the convenience of aftermarket WLAN card users. Includes Svl7's BIOS debug menu mod - for the ease of experimentation with newly available features, e.g. attempting to use Nvidia Optimus to pass eGPU video back to laptop's display. NB! Svl7's Debug Menu is not a toy! It contains a lot of options that are either not supported or partially supported by the hardware platform and/or can disturb its normal operation or prevent the PC from booting up at all. Any of the entries not originally present in the stock BIOS should be modified at your own risk! DISCLAIMER: ANY MODIFICATIONS YOU ARE APPLYING TO YOUR HARDWARE ARE PERFORMED AT YOUR OWN RISK! AUTHOR OF THIS MOD DOES NOT HOLD ANY LIABILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE RELATED TO USING THIS SOFTWARE. Screenshots: Installation instructions: If things don't go right: Error 43: If you intend using the GTX10XX-series Nvidia card as the eGPU (which you probably do), you are very likely to encounter the infamous Error 43 in Windows Device Manager. This is a widely known issue in the eGPU community and is not related to this particular mod in any way. Following this guide thoroughly will in most cases resolve the Error 43 issue. Download: Get your copy here! P.S.: Version of this mod for Lenovo Y400/Y500 models is coming soon!

So my laptop (latitude e6430) has an expresscard, so I wanted to get a eGPU for it. I did some research, and already got the adapter, but theres one thing I need. I need to know what is my TOLUD and what GPU should I buy for it, respectively. Here I attach a screenshot of my device manager and my laptop's specs so that someone may help me. If I got this right, my tolud should be 3.5Gb. Is this true, and if so, what GPU should I buy? Processor: i7-3520M RAM: 8GB note: sorry that the screenshot is in spanish, but I dont think that should matter

Hi guys, I need some help from you guys if you wouldn't mind. I'm useless Specs:- Samsung RV520 8gb DDR3 I7 2720qm @2.2ghz 1x HDD 500gb 1x HDD 300gb Nvidia GTX 650 Ti BOOST EXP GDC BEAST 8.5c DIY Setup 1.3 DELL 220w PSU After a lot of messing around I have managed to get this egpu to work when downgrading to 2gb, Which makes me think I just need to change my TOLUD to get it to work. I have read and tried to make a successful DSDT file however I don't really know what I'm doing with these driver edits and haven't been able to get it to work particularly the error fixing on compiling the dsdt. However When I did have it working on 2gb ram. I ran heaven Bench, The GTX 650 under load makes strange noises and crashes the display driver multiple times. Could any of you more knowledgeable individuals give me a hand please Thanks

After some trial and mostly error, I've come to seek help. This is my setup: Dell Inspiron 5759 Windows 10 8 GB RAM Intel i7-6500U Internal GPU: AMD R5 M335 EXP GDC v8 via NGFF (wifi card) External GPU: AMD RX560 4GB Corsair VS350 What I've done so far: I first started with a GTX 1050Ti. My laptop did recognise that card, but obviously I got the code 43 error due to NVidia banning the use of eGPU's in their 10xx series. So I returned that card and bought a RX 560 instead. But now I have even more problems. It's either blackscreen or booting on the internal display. I've tried to hotplug (boot with wifi card, and then when in sleepmode swapping for eGPU), delay the boot by going into BIOS, turning the ATX power on (permanent power via EXP GDC). The only thing I haven't tried is the delay on the EXP GDC. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I currently use my laptop for school/work and I know I could have gotten a better one but I didn't pay for it was given to me from my job. I recently purchased an HP omen accelerator and put a MSI 1050 ti in it. Knowing this set up wasn't going to work. My laptop is a i7 HP ENVY x360 Convertible-15m-bp0xx, it doesn't have any thunderbolt ports, it has a USB Type-C port with HP Sleep and Charge. I provided the picture, look at my ignorance. Please help. Is there another way around this, I feel like intel could have came up with a substitute by now.

I use a power adapter to juice my eGPU by Dell Netzteil ADP-220AB B 12V 18A 220W P/N Y2515 REV A02 I have a Zotac GeForce GTX1050ti 4GB The Problem:- I did the normal procedure, disable the eGPU. Took out the wifi and replace it with the mpcie cable. Switch on the computer and I have a blank screen. No screen at all on the laptop screen nor in the external monitor. Is there a best solution? I have seen the Setup 1.3 but I will do that if that is really the necessity.
