  1. In this thread you can post your requests for Lenovo ThinkPad T450s. If someone wants upgrade Wi-Fi card and remove whitelist, or unlock hidden additional menus and settings in bios setup menu, or already upgraded Display and after that can't adjust screen brightness, then you can post your request in this thread. Important! For creating bios backup and to flash bios mod, you must use any SPI programmer (like CH341A programmer) and a SOIC8/SOP8 test clip! Just dump your Bios using any SPI programmer (like CH341A programmer) and a SOIC8/SOP8 test clip, then post it in this thread or upload it to any fileserver and send me the link. CH341A programmer: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2322090.m570.l1313&_nkw=USB+Programmer+Ch341&_sacat=0 https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ch341a&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 SOIC8/SOP8 test clip: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Soic8-Sop8-Flash-Chip-Ic-Test-Clips-Socket-Adpter-Bios-24-25-93-Programmer/201414947737?hash=item2ee5443399:g:up8AAOSw1Fda8qkt https://www.amazon.ca/programming-EEPROM-Programmer-EZP2010-RT809H/dp/B075CGH1X1/ref=sr_1_18?dchild=1&keywords=SOIC8+clip&qid=1631766855&s=electronics&sr=1-18 How to use it: Also, you can search on YouTube a lot of guide for CH341a.
  2. Hello everyone! So on occasion I host gaming nights over at my house, and usually end up hooking my laptop up to a big TV so me and a couple friends can all play all kinds of multiplayer games (either emulated or off of steam). But I was recently thinking that it would be fun to get a projector set up, so that we could play on a huge blank wall in my living room. With that being said: I'm new to purchasing projectors, so I'm not familiar with what kinds of features/specifications I should be looking for (and I'd like to keep the cost down if it's possible). So I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me on what to look for in features/specifications, affordable places to buy from, or just general info on what I'm trying to do. Any help would be super appreciated!
  3. Is there a way to get a 144 HZ Display for the m18x R2? I was trying to think of a meaningful 5th Post for promotion, so there it is! Haha, but really, is there?
  4. Hey guys, I just bought an eGPU Adapter for my Medion Akoya Laptop. It has an ATI dGPU and i attached a Nvidia eGPU to it. It works great so far. But i can't seem to get the internal display working. I mean the internal display works but i guess the dGPU still processes the internal Display. Is there a way to get the eGPU process the internal display?
  5. Hello, It seems that new Pascal gpus in mxm form factor no longer support Surround? Any insight on why it has been disabled, or how to enable it? 980 desktop mxm supports mxm according to notebookcheck. Thanks!
  6. Samsung's new Galaxy A9, a premium midrange phone with a design of glass and metal will rock a 6-incher FullHD (1080p) AMOLED panel, minimal bezel and 2.74mm width as well as a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging. The package will include: A Snapdragon 652 (Quad-core 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex A53, Adreno 510 GPU) with 3GB of RAM and internal storage of 32GB, expandable with the help of a microSD card. It will come with a 13MP primary camera with a wide f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization. On the front there's an 8MP snapper behind an equally bright lens. A fingerprint sensor inside the home button, complete with Samsung Pay support. Wi-Fi a/b/g/n (no ac, though). Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS/Beidou for positioning as well as NFC. Unfortunately it will come with a Lollipop 5.1 and pricing and availability remain to be detailed. Source: GSM Arena View full article
  7. Has anyone with the AMD 7970m GPU successfully upgraded to an aftermarket 120hz screen? I know there's no 3d support but otherwise? I've read the guide at 120Hz 3D Screen upgrade for Alienware 17 | NotebookReview and they point out that there would be no support for 3d which is not what I'm looking for anyway, and I know that Enduro must be disabled by setting display to PEG in BIOS, but the writer of the guide seems unsure whether it's otherwise possible for the 7970m to utilize the 120hz screen, stating that it requires testing. There are also posts here mentioning at least two people bricking their systems by connecting the 120hz replacement screen. I assume the cause was that they did not use the N392W replacement video cable mentioned in the notebookreview guide, and just connected the new screen to their existing cable? Has anyone here tried this combination (120hz LCD / 7970m) or know of any further references to it? Thanks guys!

    Display change

Is it possible to change the craptastic display to an 100% adobeRGB IPS or VA screen. Please link to the supplier and/or give model number. For Y510p
  9. Between changing the display and the lvds-cabel (Display-cabel) there is another point that may matter. At first I changed both, the display and the lvds-cabel but the artifacts kept occurring o my screen. I also checked that my HDMI-output was good, so the error couldn't come from my graphiccards (650m sli). In my case, the problem was a kind of a potential-error. It seems that the electrical resistence between the the display and the frame (which is connected to the body) was to high. I fixed it with some aluminium foil. It must have been some kind of potential issue but the artifacts are gone ... I'm no pro, so please don't be rude if I made mistakes Problem came back, it was another thing The contacts of the lvds-cabel were oxidated. I used some contactspray and now everything is working propably
  10. I'm not sure if I am posting this in the wrong forum or maybe this is a combination of two forum topics (eGPUs and displays) but here it goes: Basically I wanted a external monitor to run on my 15'' mid 2014 macbook pro (no integrated graphics, only iris pro 5200) because I am in the works of making an eGPU for it. I decided to go with the Benq XL2411Z because it seemed like a well rounded monitor and it had a 144hz refresh rate. Now that I've started using it, I have been unsuccessful in achieving anything higher than 60hz. I've been told that if you are running OSX that it is impossible because that is a limit set by apple; however, I have seen people say that they are able to get the 144hz on Windows. So far I have had no such success. I had a HDMI cable connected, then read that in some cases HDMI will not be able to achieve 144hz. So I tried a DVI cable via the mini display-port to DVI adapter, but that did not solve the problem either. A lot of people on other forums have mentioned that they are able to fix this by simply opening their Nvidia control center; however, because I don't have dedicated graphics, all I have is the 'intel integrated control center' which isn't very helpful. The graphics card I am planning on attaching is the evga gtx 960 so I will have to download the drivers for that later (once I get all my parts) but I was wondering if I am missing something here? tl;dr: 1) Do I need a DVI cable to get 144hz or can I achieve 144hz through HDMI? 2) Is it possible to get 144hz without having nivida control center? Thanks!
  11. The LCD stays black, no display but the external monitor works normally. It seems not to be the "backlight", the "F8" function key does not alter the problem. Does the video card deliver signals to the LCD AND the external monitor connector? Thanks for your help
  12. I was unsure of which section to post this on, but I think this is where it might get the most visibility so here it goes. I really need help with this. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x15dhnr_laptop-problems_tech" target="_blank">Laptop Problems by http://www.dailymotion.com/jfp555" target="_blank">jfp555 If it does not embed properly, here is the link: Laptop Problems - Video Dailymotion Is there a solution to this problem? The laptop seems to be working just fine and boots into windows and I can even make out the display, use the mouse, shutdown, but obviously it is unusable. Specs are: C2D T5850 4 gb ram 8600m GT Win 7 The fault seems to be hardware based. not software. Much thanks in advance.
  13. So after calibrating my display I noticed the profile wasn't being forced. I searched around and found its a common problem and I stumbled across this fantastic tool called CPKeeper that was made by a user frustrated with the same issue: CPKeeper (Color Profile Keeper) nVidia could easily create a force profile option but choose not to so profile settings are usually lost in 3D games. This LG display I have has the ability to program a profile into the hardware but unfortunately they want you to buy their proprietary shit.
  14. I have a solution for Windows 7 users experiencing an odd brightness/color issue that happens when you are on battery power. Note: This fix only applies to Windows 7 users, I don't think it is the same issue as what is being experienced by Windows 8 users. So here is the fix: 1. Right-click on your Desktop and select Graphics Properties. You should then be looking at the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. 2. Click on the Preferences button on the top right corner and select Advanced View. You should now see more categories under the Search field. 3. Click on the Power category and then select PowerPlay™. You should now see all the PowerPlay options to the right of the category view. 4. Either uncheck Enable Vari-Bright™ or set the Vari-Bright setting to Maximize Quality. 5. Click the Apply button at the bottom right corner. Give your display at least 5 seconds to adjust to this setting. To test whether this setting works, unplug from the power outlet and run from battery to see if your display brightness and color is the same as when you were connected to the power outlet. If you find your display colors are washed out or seem too bright (regardless of whether you are connected to the power outlet or on battery), you can tweak your color settings here: 1. Go back to the AMD VISION Engine Control Center and select My Built-in Displays from the category view. 2. Then select Display Color (Built-in Display). The options to tweak the colors should now be available on the right. Make sure to click Apply to make the changes effective. 3. You can try tweaking the Contrast and Brightness settings to adjust issues you may be having with the colors or brightness. Hope the above helps. Enjoy, -Ad
